(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Yang Shengqing Faces Trial

Mr. Yang Shengqing, in his 70s, was scheduled to be tried by the Jiujiang City Court on December 21, 2023.

Mr. Yang is disabled. He is deaf and has trouble communicating with others. He was persecuted for his steadfast belief in Falun Dafa. He was displaced for years and was physically weak. The day CCP leader Xi Jinping came to Jiujiang in October 2023, Mr. Yang was arrested.

Mr. Yang’s wife could not think clearly a few years ago after being persecuted for practicing Falun Gong. Her family sent her to Jiujiang Mental Hospital for treatment, and she is still hospitalized.

2. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wu Meilian, in her 50s, was arrested at her home by officers from the Saihu Police Station on August 18, 2023. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer, and over 20,000 yuan in cash, among other items.

On the afternoon of August 15, 2023, officers from the Saihu Police Station went to Mr. Liu Tangqiu’s home and arrested Mr. Liu, who is in his 70s, Ms. Cao Li, and practitioners Hu and Dai (genders unknown). The four practitioners’ homes were ransacked.

Ms. Cao, Hu, and Dai were released. Ms. Wu and Mr. Liu are still being held in custody. It was reported that two practitioners were secretly sentenced to seven years in prison.

3. [Beijing] The Case Against Ms. Wang Lanying Brought to Court

The case against Ms. Wang Lanying, from Fangshan District, was turned over to the Fangshan District Procuratorate by the Gongchen Police Station on November 1, 2023. On December 18, Ms. Wang received an indictment from Fangshan District Procuratorate, which sent her case to the Fangshan District Court.

4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Ruiying Arrested

Ms. Qi Ruiying from Wanjia Town distributed Falun Gong materials at a farm market and delivered brochures to members of the Pingdu City 610 Office on the morning of December 17, 2023. They called in officers from the Wanjia Town Police Station, who arrested Ms. Qi. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qin Songfa and His Wife Ms. Xu Xiuzhen Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Qin Songfa from Yimin Village, Xiazhuang Town, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.

Mr. Qin’s wife, Ms. Xu Xiuzhen, was arrested on November 7, 2023, by officers from the Xiazhuang Town Police Station at the order of Xu Jie, head of Gaomi City 610 Office, and the Gaomi City Domestic Security Division. She was held in the Weifang City Detention Center. She was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.

6. [Xianning City, HubeiProvince] The Case Against Mr. Wu Yuxun Brought To Court

Mr. Wu Yuxun is 69 years old. His case was turned over to the Xian’an District Procuratorate by the Domestic Security Division of Xian’an District Police Department. The procuratorate brought his case to the Xian’an District Court on December 7, 2023.

7. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liang Yunju Taken to Prison

Ms. Liang Yunju was taken to the Jinan Women’s Prison on November 28, 2023, after she was sentenced.

8. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Chaosheng Arrested

Mr. Wang Chaosheng was arrested by police officers and Domestic Security officers on September 4, 2023. His home was ransacked. He is being held in the Xiangyang City No. 1 Detention Center.
