(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 30 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Chen Qinfang from Jiading District was sentenced to one year and two months in prison. Her sentence will end on March 25, 2023.
Around 7:20 a.m. on August 10, 2022, officers from police stations in various townships and communities in Huairou District, under the orders of the 610 Office and the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, arrested more than 20 Falun Gong practitioners in Beifang Town, Yangsong Town, Miaocheng Town, and Huairou Town. Those arrested were Liu Guiqin, Wu Guoqin, Liang Heping, Zhao Xiumei, Jia Cuihuan, Zhou Dedong, Cao Xinying, and others.
Most practitioners taken to the detention center returned home. Ms. Wu Guoqin and Ms. Yu Zhanqin were still held in the Huairou District Detention Center.
It was reported that when they ransacked Ms. Wu Guoqin’s home, the officers confiscated her Falun Gong books, printed materials, printers, computers, and cell phones. Her case was turned over to the procuratorate. Ms. Yu Zhanqin was reported to the police, arrested, and held in custody for talking to people about Falun Gong.
Ms. Li Hong was taken to the Putuo District Detention Center on January 15, 2023.
Over 10 officers from the Qidu Police Department broke into Ms. Teng Lihua’s home around 3 p.m. on April 24, 2022. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them. Ms. Teng was arrested. She was released on bail that night.
In December 2022, officers from the police department called Ms. Teng’s family and told them that her case was turned over to the procuratorate.
Around 9 a.m. on April 24, 2022, more than 10 officers from the Qidu Police Department broke into Feng Naixian’s home, arrested Feng, and planned to detain Feng for 12 days. It was not enforced due to the pandemic. Feng returned home that day.
He Xiaohua and Shu Yuying from Chancheng District were arrested on January 19, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The two practitioners’ whereabouts are unknown.
In order to avoid the persecution Ms. Sun Xiuzhen in her 80s, from Bayuquan District, left her home three years ago. She was unable to spend the Chinese New Year with her family.
Based on incomplete statistics, from May to October in 2022, Falun Gong practitioners in Laizhou City were harassed during the “zero-out” campaign targeting them. The following practitioners in Shahe Town, Tushan Town, Luwang Town, and Hutouya Town were harassed:
Li Yunying, Pan Ruiying, Pan Ruihua, Zhang Jixia, Sun Songmei, Fang Changhui, Sun Shouyu, Luan Shihai, Wang Yongqing, Xu Zhenqin, Lou Shuxian, and An Yuling.
In Hutouya Town: Ren Xiuyun, Zhao Xiuyun, Ren Ruoling, Liu Yueling, Guo Yonglan, Jing Chengying, and Zhang Zhijie, among others.
Ms. Tang Meinian, 74, and Ms. Guo Lina, 69, were reported to the police when they distributed Falun Gong informational calendars and truth-clarification materials on December 26, 2022. They were arrested by officers from the Shengli Street Police Station. Ms. Guo refused to cooperate with the officers, who stepped on her and injured her left leg when they arrested her. They carried her into a police car.
Ms. Tang and Ms. Guo were interrogated for several hours and then left the police station.
The police later ransacked the two practitioners’ homes. Ms. Guo did not recover from her leg injuries for more than two weeks.
