(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Deyu Detained in Prison
Mr. Liu Deyu was sentenced to four years in prison by the Dongbao District Court on the morning of October 28, 2022. He was sent to the Jingmen Detention Center and then transferred to Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang County, Hubei Province in April 2023.
2. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Shen Guosheng Detained in Prison
Mr. Shen Guosheng was transferred to the Qi County Prison on May 11, 2023.
3. [Shanghai] Mr. He Binggang and Ms. Zhang Yibo Put on Trial
Mr. He Binggang and Ms. Zhang Yibo were tried in the Fengxian Court on the morning of May 18, 2023. The two practitioners have been detained for a long time and are very weak. They were taken to the courthouse in wheelchairs. Their lawyers defended their innocent.
4. [Dunhua City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Tian Arrested and Detained
Practitioner Tian (first name and gender unknown) from Jiangdong Town was arrested on May 16, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong and was placed under 13-day detention.
5. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Mu Caiying Missing
No one has seen or heard from Ms. Mu Caiying.
6. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Guifen Harassed
Ms. Liu Guifen from the Houlonggang Community in the Ranghulu District was regularly harassed for years. She was taken to the hospital by her family when she had symptoms of a stroke on May 16, 2023. While she was still unconscious in the hospital, four officers went to her home and then to the hospital after learning she was there. A nurse reprimanded them and said that they would be responsible if something went wrong.
7. [Beijing] Mr. Sun Deli Faces Trial
Mr. Sun Deli from Lisui Town of Shunyi District was reported to the police in late 2021 for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was brought to trial on February 8, 2023, but the session was adjourned. Mr. Sun was notified that the hearing was rescheduled for 2 p.m. on May 25, 2023.
8. [Qinglong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Wenjie Sentenced to Three Years and Four Months in Prison
Ms. Wang Wenjie from Qinglong County was sentenced to three years and four months in prison and fined 5000 yuan by the Changli County Court on May 5, 2023. She called her lawyer. He submitted an appeal to the Changli County Court on May 11, 2023.
9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained
Liu Aidong was held in a detention house for five days and released on April 23, 2023. Yuan Suxin and Sun Meiyan have been taken to a detention center.
10. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Xiujuan Faces Trial
Ms. Ma Xiujuan was arrested by officers from the Nanying Town Police Station on April 1, 2023, and was later transferred to the Xinzhou City Detention Center. She will be tried in the Xinfu District Court on May 19, 2023.
11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Yufeng Arrested and Harassed
Ms. Wang Yufeng from the Daoli District was reported to the police for giving information about Falun Gong to someone on April 17, 2023. That person hit and kicked her. The police came, took Ms. Wang to the Jingwei Police Station, and ransacked her home that afternoon. They confiscated more than 20 Falun Gong books, Falun Gong lecture CDs (on the teachings), and about 6000 yuan in cash. Ms. Wang was pressured to sign a guarantee statement but she refused. She was released around 8 p.m.
Ms. Wang received harassing calls every day after she was released.
12. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qiu Liying Harassed
A staff member from the Shijiazhuang Oil Refinery Community went to Ms. Qiu Liying’s home on the morning of May 16, 2023. Ms. Qiu was pressured to fill in the population survey form and write down her cell phone number.
13. [Da’an City, Jilin Province] Mr. Ji Hui Arrested
Mr. Ji Hui was arrested and taken to the Xinglongshan Detention Center.
14. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Shulan Faces Trial
Several people from the Zhangbei County Court went to Ms. Sun Shulan’s home on the morning of May 16, 2023. They informed her that she will soon be tried again by the Zhangbei County Court.
When Ms. Sun was tried for the first time, she had to listen to fabricated accusations and went into convulsions. She was taken to the emergency room. A few days later, she had a stroke. Her right side was paralyzed and she was unable to speak clearly.
