(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Caiyun Sentenced to Eight Months in Prison
Ms. Wang Caiyun, 76, from Xinghuo Township, Lanxi County, Suihua City, moved to Fushun City in 2022. Ms. Wang and her sister were arrested by Guchengzi Police Station officers in the Wanghua District when they were out talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of May 19, 2023. Ms. Wang was taken to the Nangou Detention Center. Her sister was released that evening.
Ms. Wang was sentenced to eight months in prison by the Wanghua District Court on September 1, 2023.
2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] The Case Against Ms. Wang Guichun Submitted to the Procuratorate
Ms. Wang Guichun, in her 70s, and Ms. Li Xiuzhen from the Fangzi District were arrested by officers from the Heng’an Police Station on September 7, 2023. Ms. Li was released that day. Ms. Wang was taken to the Weifang City Detention Center. Her case was submitted to the procuratorate.
3. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Wang Kezhen Tried in Court
Ms. Wang Kezhen was sentenced to five years in prison by the Yaohai District Court in 2010. She was sentenced to one year in prison and fined 1000 yuan by the Shushan District Court on June 24, 2021.
Ms. Wang was tried in the Shushan District Court at 3 p.m. on September 6, 2023. Ms. Wang and her family filed a written complaint against the prosecutor, judge, and police a few days before the trial.
4. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] The Case Against Zhang Chao Submitted to the Court
The case against Zhang Chao was submitted to the Lishu County Court on August 29, 2023.
5. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested or Harassed
Zhang Shuwen was arrested by officers from the Tanfang Town Police Station in Qingzhou City on the evening of September 4, 2023.
Ms. Sun Aiying from Zhangyang Village was harassed at home by officers from the Tanfang Town Police Station in mid-September 2023. They searched her home.
Shan Yuanchun was harassed at home by officers from the Tanfang Town Police Station in August 2023.
6. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Feng Guichun Arrested and Detained
Ms. Feng Guichun works in the Linyi Blood Collection Center located in the Linyi City Administration Hall. She was arrested by Lanshan District Police Department officers on August 24, 2023, and has been held in the Linyi City Detention Center since then.
7. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Jia Guanglin and Yuan Ximei Arrested and Detained
Jia Guanglin from Quanzi Village and Yuan Ximei from Dongshijia Village were arrested when they talked to people about Falun Gong in the Zhangxing Town Market on September 14, 2023. They have been held in the Linglonggoushang Detention Center.
8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Qian Youyun Arrested and Detained
Qian Youyun from the Jiangxia District filed a lawsuit against the social security department for withholding his or her pension. The case was accepted by the Jiangxia District Court on September 14, 2023. Qian Youyun was arrested and detained for mailing letters to court employees a few days ago,
9. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Shuang Arrested at the Beijing Airport
Ms. Li Shuang from Yichun City was arrested as she was going through customs at the Beijing Airport on September 14, 2023.
10. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Province] Ms. Mo Huiping Arrested and Detained
Ms. Mo Huiping was arrested by officers from the Mancheng Street Police Station in the Jinfeng District on the way home from work at 5 p.m. on September 13, 2023.
11. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Aizhen Escapes an Arrest Attempt
Ms. Wang Aizhen escaped when the police attempted to arrest her between September 10 and 15, 2023. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
12. [Chongqing] Gu Qianrong and Huang Chaosheng Arrested
Gu Qianrong and Huang Chaosheng, a married couple from the Jiangjin District, were arrested at home on September 7, 2023, because their cell phones were hacked. Huang Chaosheng has returned home. Gu Qianrong is being held in the Jiangjin District Detention Center.
13. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ge Lijuan Arrested and Detained
Ms. Ge Lijuan from Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province, moved to Nanshan Town, Longkou City, many years ago. She was arrested in Longkou City on May 9, 2023, and her home was ransacked. When she was held in the Yantai City Detention Center, she was handcuffed and shackled. Her health quickly deteriorated. It was learned in early September 2023 that Ms. Ge has been released on bail pending trial.
14. [Quyang County, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested or Harassed
Wang Rongxuan from Dicun Town was arrested on September 15, 2023. The police ransacked Wang’s home and confiscated his or her Falun Gong books.
Officers from the Yanzhao Town Police Station harassed several practitioners including Zhang Jingfu and Zhang Shilin on September 14, 2023. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and truth clarifying materials from Zhang Jingfu’s home and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder from Zhang Shilin’s home.
15. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Lei Xinghua Harassed and Arrested
Four people from the Chengdu City Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the local community office went to Ms. Lei Xinghua’s home around 2 p.m. on September 7, 2023. They pressured her to sign a prepared statement, which she refused to do. They threatened her and claimed that the police would come every day until she signed. They stayed until 4 p.m. and confiscated numerous Falun Gong books and two photos of Falun Gong’s founder before they left.
On September 11, 2023, those people found Ms. Lei’s daughter, who does not practice. They pressured her to sign the paperwork on behalf of her mother and claimed they would not bother her mother anymore if she cooperated.
Ms. Lei was followed when she went to a market on September 13, 2023. When she returned home, Liu from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the police arrested her. She was taken to the Shizilou Hostel. They refused to let her go unless she signed the paper.
