(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 4 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
2. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhu Jingrong Persecuted
3. [Chongqing] Ms. Deng Huacheng Arrested
4. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ren Xiulan and Ms. Zhang Yuxia Released
5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] The Case Against Ms. Feng Xiuhua Submitted to the Court
1. [Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Wu Chunmei was tried in court on November 9, 2023. She was sentenced to six months in jail to be served outside prison, and fined 2,000 yuan.
Ms. Lai Huanping was tried in court on November 13, 2023. She was sentenced to 10 months in prison to be served outside prison, and fined 2,000 yuan.
Both Ms. Wu Chunmei and Ms. Lai Huanping were arrested by officers from the Fenghuang Street Police Station in late November 2023 and were taken to the Pingxiang City Detention Center. They were once again denied admission.
Ms. Xiao Qiuwen was tried in court on November 16, 2023. She was sentenced to 10 months in prison to be served outside prison, and was fined 1,000 yuan.
Ms. Xiao Fangmei was tried in court on November 16, 2023. She was sentenced to 11 months in prison to be served outside prison, and was fined 1,000 yuan.
2. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhu Jingrong Persecuted
Ms. Zhu Jingrong, 77, from Beibei District, was reported to police for distributing information about Falun Gong and was arrested and taken to a detention center last year. She was denied admission and returned home. She was later told that she was placed under bail pending trial. Ms. Zhu received a call from the Beibei District Procuratorate on January 15, 2024, informing her to go to the procuratorate on January 18, 2024.
3. [Chongqing] Ms. Deng Huacheng Arrested
Ms. Deng Huacheng was arrested by four officers from the Longshui Police Station in Dazu District on the afternoon of December 7, 2023 when she went to a vegetable market. She was taken to the Yongchuan Detention Center. She was checked in the Yongchuan Chinese Medicine Hospital every day multiple times for total of more than 30 times and her blood pressure was always over 200 and her blood sugar level was just above 30. She was released on the afternoon of December 12, 2023.
4. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ren Xiulan and Ms. Zhang Yuxia Released
Ms. Ren Xiulan and Ms. Zhang Yuxia from Bayuquan District were released from prison in mid-September 2023.
5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] The Case Against Ms. Feng Xiuhua Submitted to the Court
Ms. Feng Xiuhua, 57, is from Hebaohu Farm in Dongxihu District. Her case was submitted to the Hanyang District Court in September 2023.
