Falun Dafa Renewed My Life

Dec. 13, 2024 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) I am a poor woman from the countryside. I would like to share with you my journey of becoming a Falun Dafa practitioner.

In the last month of the lunar calendar in 1998, a woman from my village came to my house. During our conversation she told me that she had practiced Falun Dafa. As soon as I heard this, I felt friendly towards her. I decided to go to her home after the Chinese New Year to get to know her better.

During the Chinese New Year I took my daughter who was less than five years old, to the woman’s house. As soon as I entered the door, she warmly welcomed me and shared some stories about Dafa practitioners. They are all good people and are known for doing only good deeds after learning Falun Dafa. I felt that as a human being, we should be good people. The woman asked me: “Do you want to read a Dafa book?” I said yes.

She then lent me a copy of Zhuan Falun the main book of Dafa. On returning home I read Zhuan Falun. The portrait of Master Li on the title page of Zhuan Falun looked at me so kindly. I felt that Zhuan Falun was no ordinary book and I wanted to take a closer look.

Master said: “Zhen-Shan-Ren is the Sole Criterion to Discern Good and Bad People.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun).

I thought: I also want to be a good person. From then on, I embarked on the path of cultivation, and the happiness I feel is beyond words.

Before I started practicing Dafa, my family had constant conflicts. The worst among us was my mother-in-law, who was a troublemaker. She would either cause trouble for her brother and sister-in-law or her husband. We had a major conflict every three days and a minor conflct every two days. I was an introvert and could not win an argument with them. I was so angry that I wanted to commit suicide several times. But, when I thought about my young child I endured and persevered, lived a difficult life, and hoped that my child would grow up quickly. When I felt that life was very hard and tiring, I finally came across Falun Dafa. From then on, I became cheerful, did not argue with anyone in my family, and lived a good life. I based everything I did on the principles Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

Just as I was immersed in the joy of practicing Dafa, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution. How could this happen? Such a good practice teaches people to be good and improves health. At that time, I was very naïve and thought that it was done by a few individuals in the government, so I continued to do my good deeds.

I returned the gold earrings the size of a one-yuan coin to the owner. Later, I sent the ID card and driver’s license I found in a mountainous area hundreds of miles away. The owner responded, “Thanks to this deity! Thank the earth!” I corrected him, saying, “No need to thank a deity, just thank Master Li Hongzhi!” He asked in surprise, “Really?!” I said yes. From then on, this incident set off a chain reaction, and he told his police officer friend. His police officer friend personally came to my house to confirm the incident. From then on, this police officer no longer participated in the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners.

Most Falun Dafa practitioners in my village were arrested and illegally detained for filing a complaint in 2015 against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party who launched the persecution. After we clarified the truth to them, most of the police officers no longer participated in the persecution.

Later, two police officers accompanied by six people came to my house. I asked the police officers, “Have I caused you any trouble over the years?” They all said no. I said, “Not only did I not cause you any trouble, but we are good people, which is good for you.” I also told the other six or seven strangers about the good deeds I did after learning Falun Dafa and the changes in my body and mind.

Finally, I asked them, “Do you think good people like us should be praised or persecuted?” One of them earnestly said, “You should be praised!”
