(Minghui.org) Some practitioners in mainland China recently wrote to Minghui to share their experiences distributing Falun Dafa materials, including the magazine-sized Heaven and Earth. With major holidays coming up (Christmas, New Year, and Chinese New Year), we are sharing this information, hoping that it will help practitioners do even better.

Types of Materials and Where to Distribute

The types of materials to distribute vary depending on the local situation. I live in a county seat and we often go out to hand out desk or wall calendars. First, we share stories about people who received blessings after they put up calendars in their homes. If people are receptive, we tell them the facts about Dafa and explain the importance of quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) organizations. After that, we ask if they would like to read Master Li’s three recent articles.

These three articles are: “How Humankind Came To Be,” “Why the Creator Seeks to Save All Life,” and “Why This World Is a Realm of Unknowing,” We print them on a laser printer and put them in a plastic sleeve so they don’t get wet, with the title of two articles facing the outside, so that people can see them at a glance. We then put everything (calendar, articles, and materials) in a patterned plastic bag, which makes it safer for us to distribute, and for everyday people to keep.

We found that the effect when we do it this way is better than previous years. We also noticed it is convenient to distribute near restaurants where people have weddings. Many villagers are in a good mood during these festivities and are happy to accept our material.

Distributing Pamphlets

One practitioner said they normally print A5-sized pamphlets (A5 is about half the size of letter size paper). In the past, when handing out relatively thin pamphlets, people often asked for more pages. Since practitioners also wanted people to get more information from the pamphlets, they usually include more pages nowadays.

Many years ago, practitioners in the region placed pamphlets in bike baskets or residential building hallways. Over time, practitioners stopped doing this to avoid wasting materials and safety issues from security door surveillance cameras. Instead, they mainly tell people about Falun Dafa face to face and give them material. It is relatively safer, and people – including government officials – rarely report practitioners to police now.

Some practitioners go to farmers’ markets in suburban areas to distribute materials, which has good results. Some people ask if they had new materials. A few years ago, police officers and plainclothes agents would occasionally arrest practitioners, and then many practitioners inside and outside China would make phone calls calling for the release of the detained practitioners. These arrests don't happen as much now, since officials don’t want their names and bad deeds published on Minghui.

Magazine-Sized Materials

Heaven and Earth is a quarterly Chinese language magazine from Minghui, originally published in A5 size. About five years ago, a new A4-size format (similar to letter size) was introduced. Some practitioners printed 10 or 20 copies to distribute, and some printed hundreds of copies. This magazine-sized publication is very popular.

One practitioner, who usually prints 20 copies, said many people liked the new version since it is more professional in both content and layout. When giving them out, he could feel its strong energy and noticed that people really cherished the publication. Very often, family members of practitioners read them first and then passed them on to others. The articles are well written and promote traditional values.

Another practitioner said that she’s been printing Heaven and Earth since July 2023, and gives them out to people aged between 30 and 65. Older people are more willing to read paper material, compared to the younger generation.

One practitioner said that two family members (one 40 years old and another in his 60's) read every issue of the publication. They liked the stories of traditional Chinese culture and feel they have benefited from them.

Another practitioner has regular group study with two other practitioners. They print at least four copies of Heaven and Earth each time they meet, and sometimes print more during holidays. They give them to government officials.

One practitioner prints copies and gives them to elderly relatives, classmates, friends, patients, and people at his class reunion. He wrote, “Some people liked it very much and were eager to read the next issue. Some asked if there were past issues available. Some thought they were brought from overseas. Because I was selective when I gave out the material, everyone who received it cherishes it very much. After one family read an issue, they asked for a copy of Master’s audio lectures and became practitioners.”

“Many people like the pictures of Shen Yun’s performances. One classmate said that it was like a fairyland with heavenly girls, and she wanted to see a Shen Yun performance,” was some of the feedback. “One neighbor is a teacher and said she no longer felt depressed after reading the Falun Dafa magazine Heaven and Earth.”

After reading the 300th issue of Heaven and Earth, one woman said she wished to be one of the lovely fairies described in the stories, instead of a tough woman. “One has to read Falun Dafa books to understand traditional Chinese culture,” she said.

One reader said he lives in a county seat. After downloading Heaven and Earth, he read them as truth-clarification materials. Someone had brought a few printed copies and handed them out in person. The result was very good, and those who received the magazine said they enjoyed it.

Another reader said that many years ago practitioners randomly left copies of Heaven and Earth on cars. In recent years, they tended to hand them out face to face. One CCP Party Secretary at a stated-owned enterprise used to misunderstand Falun Dafa. After reading Heaven and Earth and The Ultimate Goal of Communism, he started supporting Falun Dafa and quit the CCP organizations.

One business owner received Heaven and Earth regularly from a friend. He often asked for any new issues and agreed to quit the CCP organizations. His younger sister also decided to withdraw from the CCP organizations.

One reader works in the publishing industry and her coworkers liked the magazine-sized Heaven and Earth better. Probably due to their job, they thought the smaller size used in the past wasn’t as professional.

One practitioner said he and other local practitioners printed about 100 copies of Heaven and Earth each time. Many people really liked them and often asked for new issues.

Another practitioner said they started printing Heaven and Earth in August 2022 and distributed them to people who support Dafa. Most of them worked in government or stated-owned enterprises, and their overall feedback about the magazine was very good. It helped them learn about traditional culture, and they could tell that a lot of effort had gone into the magazine.

Some practitioners have their own businesses, and they have printed copies available in their store. Other practitioners distribute them to people working in government or public institutions.
