(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Zhou Xiuhui was arrested along with 17 other practitioners on May 9, 2024. She has been detained in the Mudanjiang City Detention Center since. She was tried by the Hailin City Court on November 29, 2024.
Ms. Yan Yanfang and Liu Furui were tried by the Huixian City Court on November 26, 2024. Ms. Yan has been detained for five months.
Mr. Wang Kaifa and his wife, Ms. Yu Guixia, from Yanshou County, were arrested on August 22, 2024 and have been detained in the Harbin City Second Detention Center since. Their case was submitted to the Daowai District Procuratorate on October 30, 2024, which recently forwarded it the Daowai District Court. The prosecutor threatened to sentence Ms. Yu from 3 to 7 years in prison if she didn’t plead guilty.
Ms. Chen Zhaoxia from Zhancheng Town was arrested by officers in Huixian City in early November 2024.
Ms. Fu Liping from Xinhua District was arrested by officers from the Xinshi Police Station in Qiaoxi District in 2022 for talking to people about Falun Gong. While she was released shortly due to the pandemic, the police called her again on November 28, 2024 and threatened to take her back into custody to serve the detention for her 2022 arrest.
Practitioners Yan and Chen from Qingbaijiang District were arrested on November 14, 2024 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Chen was released later that day. Yan was detained 10 days.
Mr. Deng Weijian and Ms. Zhou Daoqiong from Qingbaijiang District were arrested separately and taken to the Shequhe Police Station on November 27, 2024. They were both released later that day.
Ms. Cai Manyi and her family members from Jianghan District joined a group vacation tour which would pass through Beijing on November 15, 2024. Officers from the Beihu Street Police Station in Wuhan called her at 1 a.m. on November 14, 2024 to inquire about her trip.
Several officers showed up at her door at 8:30 a.m. on November 14. They said that she is a “key target” on the government’s list and demanded to see her flight information and take her photo. She didn’t comply.
When Ms. Cai and her family were leaving the Beijing Airport around 5 p.m. on November 15, 2024, they were ordered to show their IDs and boarding passes, which were then photographed, while other passengers just went through with their boarding passes.
Ms. Chen Haiyan was arrested by officers from the Tiebei Police Station while distributing truth-clarifying materials about Falun Gong on November 6, 2020. She was later sentenced to four years and served time at the Heizuizi Women’s Prison. She was released on November 6, 2024.
Ms. Li Dexiang was harassed at home by several people including Liu, head of the Judicial Office of the Binhe Road Sub-district, on the morning of November 7, 2024. She was pressured to sign a blank paper, which she refused. She was then threatened and photographed.
