(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 4 cities or counties in 1 province, where at least 6 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yuhong Sentenced to Prison
2. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ai Fengzhen and Her Sister Ms. Ai Fengzhi Arrested
3. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiang Shujuan and Ms. Liu Yunhua Harassed
4. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ren Cuirong Harassed
1. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yuhong Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Liu Yuhong from Jimo District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Mashan Police Station. She was held in Qingdao City No. 2 Detention Center for 37 days. In November 2023, the Jimo District Court sentenced her to six months in prison, suspended for one year (through November 20, 2024), and fined her 1,000 yuan.
2. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ai Fengzhen and Her Sister Ms. Ai Fengzhi Arrested
Ms. Ai Fengzhen, in her 70s, and her sister Ms. Ai Fengzhi, 82, from Xiaozhuangzi Village, were reported to the police when they talked to people about Falun Gong at Xiangdian Town farmers market by officers from Taishan Road Police Station on the morning of January 30, 2024. The officers ransacked their homes but did not find anything they were looking for.
Around 3 p.m. that afternoon, Ms. Ai Fengzhi was picked up by her family. The officers tried to take Ms. Ai Fengzhen to a detention center. After two physical examinations, her blood pressure reading was as high as 210, and they had to release her. The officers went to her home the next day and notified her that she would be detained after the Chinese New Year.
3. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiang Shujuan and Ms. Liu Yunhua Harassed
Two officers from the Sujiadian Town Police Station went to the homes Ms. Jiang Shujuan and Ms. Li Yunhua, in Yulintou Village, respectively on January 31 and February 1, 2024 to harass them.
4. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ren Cuirong Harassed
Two officers from the Zijingshan Police Station in Penglai District knocked on the door of Ms. Ren Cuirong’s home and asked if she still practiced Falun Gong. They told her to only practice at home and not to talk to anyone about Falun Gong or the persecution.
