(Minghui.org) The UN Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review was held in the Palace of Geneva on January 22 and 23, 2024. To inform the representatives of countries from around the world who attended the meeting about Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) and the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution, practitioners from several European countries held activities at the Place des Nations.
The practitioners who participated in the event came from Switzerland, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Finland. Some of them demonstrated the exercises or held banners, while others distributed fliers and talked to passersby. During the two-day event, many people stopped to watch, and some asked for more information about Falun Dafa and expressed an interest in learning how to practice. People offered their blessings and encouraged the practitioners to continue.

Practitioners distribute fliers and introduce the practice to passersby.
Many delegates from different countries passed by the Place des Nations over the course of those two days. Two delegates from Mexico who took fliers said that they had heard about the persecution and the CCP’s organ harvesting when they were in Atlanta in the United States.
A civil servant who attended the meeting on January 22 crossed the road and signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution when he saw it was about Falun Dafa. He told practitioners he’d heard the testimony in the United Nations, so he knew what Falun Dafa practitioners were suffering.
A UN diplomat was stunned to learn about the CCP-sanctioned forced organ harvesting. The fact that the persecution has lasted for 25 years, resulting in the deaths of so many practitioners disturbed him and he commented that “We should not keep silent.” He expressed his appreciation to the practitioners for spreading the universal values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
People support Falun Dafa and condemn the persecution.
When a representative of a non-governmental organization stopped to photograph a banner, a practitioner told him about the persecution. The man said that he was a Buddhist who practiced meditation and that he was appalled to hear about the CCP’s brutality. He took several leaflets in French and said he would give them to his colleagues in the United Nations.
As a teacher and her students from Britain headed to the meeting on January 22, she listened carefully to a practitioner’s explanation of the CCP’s live organ harvesting. When she and her students passed by the venue again the next day, she said that Falun Dafa practitioners were really brave, under tremendous pressure, and publicized the truth.
