(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Liu Xiaohua from Tumen City was sentenced to five years and six months in prison. Her family went to visit her at the Changchun Women’s Prison, but the prison did not allow them to see her.
Jing County Court tried Ms. Zhu Shuzhen and Ms. Wang Heyun, both are from Fucheng County, and Ms. Han Fuyu from Botou City, on March 1, 2024. They were arrested in 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong and the persecution.
Mr. Wang Jianguo, about 50 years old, lives in the Shuangyang District. He was arrested by officers from the Zhenlai County Police Department and the Tuding Police Station on July 3, 2023. He is held in the Zhenlai Detention Center. The case against him has been submitted to the Procuratorate.
Mr. Xuan Shizhong, 70, lives in the Shuangcheng District. He was arrested at his workplace in late December 2023. He has been missing since then. His two daughters went to the local police department, detention center lockup, and the province’s public security bureau to inquire about him, but they were not told anything.
Someone monitored and followed Ms. Qian Xiujuan outside her apartment building on February 27, 2024. It is said that she will be monitored for two weeks due to the Chinese Communist Party’s “Two Conferences” (the People’s Political Consultative Conference and the National People’s Congress annual meetings). Someone knocked on her door to harass her on February 28.
Five people from the Youzha Police Station of Luanzhou City arrested Ms. Zhang Yanling at home at noon on February 29, 2024. They brought a subpoena and a search warrant. They took her to the police station and sent people to ransack her home. They confiscated a laptop, a printer, and Falun Gong books. Ms. Zhang has been released.
A practitioner surnamed Huang rented a place near Xianglujiao. Local police knocked on her door to harass her on February 24 and 25, 2024. The police eventually damaged the lock and forced their way into her rented home. Her current situation is unknown.
