(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Zhang Xiuqin was arrested by officers from the Guta Police Department’s Domestic Security Division on January 17, 2024. Her home was ransacked. Her case was forwarded to the court.
Ms. Hao Honghua, 56, was arrested at home around 7:00 a.m. on April 19, 2023. Officers knocked on her door. She did not answer. They pried open her door, seized her computer, two printers, and 30,000 yuan in cash.
Ms. He Chen, 57, was arrested at home in the Xiwang Neighborhood around November 15, 2023. Her home was ransacked. Officers went to her home in the Beichenguiyuan Neighborhood before that, but failed to arrest her because she was not there.
Both practitioners are held in the Zhoukou City Detention Center.
Five practitioners from Xishui County, Ms. Xu Meifen, in her 80s, Ms. Li Yingqiu, 75, Mr. Zhou Haifeng, Ms. Wang Sanhong, and Ms. Youer, went to Guankou Town on March 10, 2025. They talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were reported and were arrested by officers from the Guankou Police Station. Mr. Zhou’s taxi and his personal items inside the car, including his cell phone and money which had Falun Gong messages printed on them, were confiscated.
Officers forced them to undergo blood exam, eye exam, collected their palm prints, finger prints, and two minutes of their voice sample. Two elderly practitioners, Ms. Xu and Ms. Li, were released that night. The other three are in police custody.
Three practitioners were arrested in the Yuguan Market by more than ten officers from the Yuguan Police Station for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. One practitioner’s nick name is Xiaohui. One’s family name is Wang. The last practitioner’s name is unknown. Wang was released that afternoon because his or her blood pressure was as high as 220 mmHg. The other two practitioners were given 15 days detention and are being held in the Qinhuangdao City No. 2 Detention Center.
Ms. Fan Shaolin of Anlu City was arrested by Anlu Domestic Security Division officers on March 10, 2024 for distributing Falun Gong flyers. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Anlu Detention Center.
Mr. Yan Youzhong of Anlu City was arrested by Anlu Domestic Security Division officers on March 12, 2024. His wife, Ms. Yang Furong, was held in the Changsong Brainwashing Center last year, and became paralyzed during imprisonment. She was finally released after her family complained to the mayor’s hot line. Yang Junwen, head of 610 Office threatened Mr. Yang and tried to force him to sign a paper renouncing Falun Gong.
Mr. Li Jinghui of Deqing County was born on August 10, 1975. He was repeatedly persecuted for practicing Falun Gong.
He was arrested by officers from the Duanzhou District Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of May 8, 2023. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. He was released more than ten days later. He is indicted.
Mr. Li Shigang was arrested and released after his physical exam showed he had high blood pressure. But, he was given 15 days detention and will be put into detention center on March 18. His cash and personal items were confiscated when he was arrested.
He Zuo, gender unknown, was detained for 15 days.
Ms. Fu Xinhua was arrested at home by officers from the Beishijiawu Township Police Station after 10:00 a.m. on March 13, 2024. They tried to imprison her. They took her to four hospitals and made her undergo detention center entry physical exams. She failed all of them. They had to release her after 4:00 p.m.
Ms. Cai Shuling from Changchun City visited her relatives in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. She was arrested there and detained for 10 days. She was released on March 15, 2024.
Mr. Xia Hongmin was incarcerated for 18 months in the Jidong No. 5 Prison when he was released and taken home by his family on January 17, 2024.
The local police keep harassing him and his family, and forbade him from contacting people outside of his family.
Mr. Qi Zhiyin, a 62-year-old Tianjin resident, was arrested on February 4, 2024 at his daughter’s home in Beijing. He is currently held at the Wuqing District Detention Center in Tianjin and faces a prison sentence.
Mr. Qi’s latest persecution came after he spent five years away from home (in order to avoid being arrested). He was previously arrested on December 28, 2017 during a police sweep. He held a hunger strike at the Wuqing District Detention Center for 40 days to protest the persecution and was released on bail in August 2018. When he was later summoned by the Tianjin Court, he decided to leave home to avoid being sentenced, only to be arrested again five years later. It’s reported that the authorities plan to sentence him soon.
Ms. Zhou Yuqin was arrested on December 11, 2020 and later sentenced to three years by the Xing’an District Court. She was transferred from the Hegang City Detention Center to the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison around June 2022. After enduring relentless torture, she was released in mid-December 2023.
