(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Meng Mei Sentenced to Prison
2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Six Practitioners Arrested
3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Detained
4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Tao Liping Arrested and Detained
5. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Wenlong Detained
6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Wang Xin’ai Arrested and Detained
7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Chen Xueqing and Ms. Hao Ruiying Harassed
8. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Ma Zhenglian Harassed
9. [Jingyu County, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Qiumin Arrested
10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Shi Wenzhuo Detained
1. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Meng Mei Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Meng Mei from West Mountain area, 72, was arrested when she distributed information about Falun Gong in the Yingze District on August 14, 2023. She was sentenced to eighteen months in prison in December 2023.
2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Six Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Li Jinping was arrested on the morning of April 9, 2023. Her home was ransacked. Mr. Zhi Zhanmin was arrested on the afternoon of the same day. His home was ransacked.
During the same period, officers from the Fuchang Township Police Station set up a watch point near the building where practitioner Wei lives. Three practitioners, Wei, Zhou Lanying and Xiao Qin, were arrested. Their homes were ransacked. The officers ransacked the home of Ms. Wang, who is over 80, at around 9 p.m. that evening. Zhou Lanying was released later.
3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Detained
Three practitioners from Fengrun District, Mr. Xu Zhenguo, Ms. Zhao Shuping and Ms. Meng Xianghua, were arrested by officers from the Liangjiadian Town Police Station when they talked to people about Falun Gong in Liangjiadian Town, Yutian County on April 5, 2024. They are currently detained in the Yutian County Detention Center.
4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Tao Liping Arrested and Detained
Ms. Tao Liping was arrested in Hangzhou City of Jiangsu Province in October 2023 for distributing truth clarifying materials. She was detained in the Yuhang District Detention Center for six months.
5. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Wenlong Detained
Mr. Xu Wenlong has been held in a detention center for nearly one year. The details are unknown.
6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Wang Xin’ai Arrested and Detained
Wang Xin’ai (gender unknown) from Luancheng District was recently arrested by officers from the Xiying Township Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong in Dongying Village. Wang has been detained.
7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Chen Xueqing and Ms. Hao Ruiying Harassed
Mr. Chen Xueqing lives in Xinwang Village, Wutu Sub-district. Village official Zhang Desheng led several people to his home on March 19, 2024. They took some photos.
Ms. Hao Ruiying lives in Shirenpo Village, Wutu Sub-district. Zhang Desheng and staff members from the Wutu Sub-district Office went to her home at 4:30 p.m. on March 22, 2024. They pressured Ms. Hao to give up her belief in Falun Gong. She refused.
8. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Ma Zhenglian Harassed
Ms. Ma Zhenglian was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in a supermarket on March 14, 2024. Three officers from the Gaoling Police Station went to her home that evening. They confiscated one Falun Gong book, several Minghui Weekly magazines, and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder.
9. [Jingyu County, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Qiumin Arrested
Ms. Sun Qiumin was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by three officers from the Henan Police Station on the morning of January 21, 2022. Her home was ransacked. She was placed under bail pending trial, and was released after her son signed the papers.
10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Shi Wenzhuo Detained
Mr. Shi Wenzhuo, 59, was sentenced to six years in prison in mid-December 2023. He was informed by the Changchun City Procuratorate around March 26, 2024 that the original verdict was upheld. Mr. Shi is currently detained in the Xinglongshan Detention Center.
