Nicky Billouat at the Shen Yun performance in Toronto on April 2 (NTD Television)
Nicky Billouat, founder of eCircle Academy, saw Shen Yun in Toronto on April 2.
“The underlying theme of the entire evening was love, joy, and peace. You could feel it, I could feel it in the entire performance. And yet, there were aspects of the performance that were high energy and beautifully inspiring as well,” said Mr. Billou.
“And you could see on their faces, this joy, this love, this fire, this passion. It was magnificent,” he added.
Mr. Billou is also an author and co-host of “The Thought Leader Revolution” podcast. He said he was touched by the underlying values Shen Yun presents and called its mission an act of courage.
“I myself have always been drawn to the Chinese people, Chinese culture, and reading and understanding Chinese literature and philosophy. It’s something that I think permeated the entire evening. But another thing that permeated the evening was courage, absolute total courage. These are people that are standing up against tyranny, that are standing up against hate, that are standing up against oppression,” he said.
“When the Soviet Union was defeated, that chapter of communism ended and everybody thought that was the end of communism, but it wasn’t, it was just a major part of communism being defeated. Right now, there’s another aspect, another chapter of communism, which is screaming loudly, shouting loudly. And it’s even made its way into many Western countries, these Western countries are from within fighting against this evil tyranny... And I believe that the people here that put on this brave performance are part of the forces of light that will vanquish the forces of darkness,” Mr. Billou said.
Joanne Tokessy at the Shen Yun performance in Montréal, Canada, on April 18 (The Epoch Times)
Musician Joanne Tokessy saw Shen Yun in Montréal on April 18.
Ms. Tokessy saw Shen Yun for the first time a year ago. She recounted how that performance impacted her life.
“I was blessed here,” she said. “I got better physically. I went through a bit of a bad time. But then it was like something happened, and my whole life changed. It was a miracle last year that I experienced.”
Ms. Tokessy said that since watching Shen Yun last year, her health has improved. Through Shen Yun, she learned about Falun Dafa. She said that after reading Falun Dafa’s main text, “Zhuan Falun,” she felt her life “physically, mentally, spiritually, has just been put higher.”
“I just got my life force back,” said Ms. Tokessy. “My heart’s been filled... So much love and compassion and understanding and kindness, just to see people in a different light too, you know.”
This year, the calmness and energy in Shen Yun’s performance touched Ms. Tokessy, who said that she believed she had seen angels flying in the theater. Ms. Tokessy also shared the message she saw in Shen Yun’s 2024 production.
“This year, I just found that [they] were really sending out a message of love... because the message of love is what needs to be sent out at this time... This show was more about success, and... you can’t have success without love, kindness, and compassion.”
Ms. Tokessy said she felt enveloped in motherly affection throughout the performance and from the music.
“It was like I was coming home... [It felt like] somebody on my shoulder going, ‘It’s okay, take this music and let it soothe you, let it love you.’ It was almost like my mother was rocking me,” she said.
“It just really, really grabbed me into profound melancholy... I was thinking I was home in my crib or something as a child.”
Ms. Tokessy credits Shen Yun and Falun Dafa for all of the positive events that have occurred in her life since last year and believes that others can benefit from seeing the performance, too.
“People really need to come and see this... because this show is saving lives,” said Ms. Tokessy.
She had a heartfelt message for Shen Yun’s performers as well: “I’d like to thank you all. What you do and the heart and the soul that you put into your performances is just outstanding... I’d like to thank everybody in the orchestra for doing such an extraordinary job, and the beautiful singers and the dancers in the whole troupe. You really, really, really changed my life. So I’d like to thank you all for that, and may we all be blessed today and every day.”

Andreas and Monika Pott, authors, consultants, and founders of Akademie des Wissens (Academy of Knowledge), saw Shen Yun in Füssen on April 27. The couple had seen Shen Yun two years ago.
“I was deeply moved. This kind of perfection, wonder, grace, and energy transmitted made me fall for it. Of course also the messages communicated by them, which are completely in line with our values,” Monika said.
Andreas was also emotional. “Today, Shen Yun again moved me to tears. We firmly believe that there are past lives. Otherwise, everything would be meaningless,” he said.
“[Shen Yun’s] impact on my soul will last a few weeks or months... The energy emitted by the performance will be remembered by us,” Monika said.
“There was a feeling of being moved – directly reaching deep in the soul. This feeling was so deep that I could one hundred percent feel the most central place of my heart,” Andreas said.

She said she was very awestruck and could not simply use “like” to describe her feelings, because she was “full of tears” the entire time. “These tears came on their own. A kind of energy vibration,” she said.
“It was beyond being moved. It was shocking me,” Ms. Xie said.
