(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

Mr. Jiang Yunnan, 61, was sent to the Guandu Detention Center. On May 20, 2024, he received the indictment from Wuhua District Procuratorate which was dated April 20, 2025. Mr. Jiang was accused of “undermining the implementation of the law.” He will be tried in the Wuhua District Court at 9:30 a.m. on June 6, 2024.
Four practitioners, Mr. Wu Fengyin, Ms. Wu Jingjuan, Ms. Lu Lifang and Wu Jian, were arrested at Mr. Wu Fengyin’s home by officers from the Quxi Police Station in the Jiedong District on the afternoon of May 30, 2024. Ms. Jingxia was arrested at her own home. All five practitioners’ homes were ransacked.
Ms. Lu Lifang was taken to her daughter’s home that evening. The police ransacked the home from 5 p.m. to midnight. Four of her family members, her daughter, son-in-law and two young grandsons, are non-practitioners but were still taken to the police station. Her son-in-law and two grandsons were released the next day but her daughter was not released.
Ms. Wu Jingjuan was released in the evening. Ms. Wu Fengyin, Wu Jian and Ms. Jingxia are currently detained in the Jiedong Detention House along with Ms. Lu Lifang’s daughter. It is unknown where Ms. Lu Lifang is detained.
Ms. Fang Hongbing and Ms. Hu Bibo were reported to police for talking about Falun Gong in Zhongyi Town and were arrested by officers from the Zhongyi Town Police Station on the afternoon of May 29, 2024. They were interrogated in the police station and were taken to the Huanggang Detention Center the next day. Their homes were ransacked on May 31, 2024 but the police did not find anything they were looking for.
Ms. Sun Caiyan was arrested by officers from the Nansha Police Station on May 12, 2024. Her home was ransacked that evening, and again the next day, on May 13, 2024. The safe in her home was confiscated. Ms. Sun is currently held in the Yaojia Detention Center.
Ms. Liu Bingbing from Maiji District has been missing for several months. It was recently learned that Ms. Liu was arrested by officers in the Qincheng District in December 2023 and held in the Qinzhou District Detention Center.
Lin Hongjie and Fang Ruiqin were sent to the Yantai Detention Center. Xie Qingcai was taken to the Yantai Detention Center the same day as Lin and Fang.
Ms. Yao, 83, lives in Guixiang New Village, Putuo District. She was reported to police for distributing truth clarifying materials and the police ransacked her home in April 2024.
After the Jiujiang City Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict against Ms. Liu Huiping in October 2023, Ms. Liu’s husband, Mr. Zhong Qingmiao, submitted a retrial appeal to the Jiujiang Intermediate Court on January 18, 2024. Judge Zhang Tao rejected the appeal on March 12, 2024. Now Mr. Zhong has appealed to the Jiangxi Province High Court.
Ms. Xu Lixiu was held for one month in the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center. She did not cooperate.
Ms. Zhang Xiaohua was also detained in the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center at the same time as Ms. Xu. Ms. Zhang is currently detained in the Kangle Hospital belonging to No.1 Detention Center of Wuhan City.
Ms. Hou Xiuying from Yi County was arrested by officers from the Jiaqi Road Police Station on March 1, 2024. She was placed under 15-day detention but has not yet returned home. Her whereabouts are unknown.
