(Minghui.org) My son supports my practice of Falun Dafa and understands the truth. In the complex social interactions in Chinese society, he has learned to respond with kindness and enjoys a healthy, cheerful high school life.
My son cherishes truth clarification materials, and always brings home any fliers or booklets when he finds them on the ground. He once saw an elderly lady sitting on a pamphlet that looked as if it was about Falun Dafa. He waited until she left, and when he picked it up he saw that it was indeed a truth-clarification booklet. He brought it home and said, “Dafa is meant to save people, but the lady was sitting on this. She didn’t know to cherish it.”
Another time, my son found a calendar which contained information about Falun Dafa. He carefully cleaned it and said it should be placed in our home for us to use. I always told him that he was doing a great deed.
My son was admitted to a prestigious high school last year. Our family, friends, and neighbors were happy for him. With the high school system’s reform in my region, the acceptance rate to a high school is only 40-50%. Many say that getting into high school is now more difficult than being admitted to college. I know that my son’s admission to a prestigious high school is a blessing bestowed by Falun Dafa.
The school required all boys to have short haircuts. Fearing that a longer cut wouldn’t meet the standard, my son cut his hair very short. Unexpectedly, his haircut caused him trouble.
One student began calling my son “Bald Q.” Whenever the letter “Q” was read in English class, his classmates would laugh at him. After class, that student often called out my son’s name in front of everyone, adding “Q” at the end, causing the whole class to laugh.
One evening, my son called me and asked me to pick him up from school. When I saw him, he was depressed and in a very bad mood. His self-esteem was hurt. He said, “Mom, when will this end? Every time they do this, I just want to find a hole to crawl into.”
I tried my best to calm myself and said, “Don’t take it to heart; this is temporary. You have to learn to endure.” Suddenly, my son said, “I want to transfer schools. I don’t want to go there anymore.”
I realized that my son reached his limit. I prepared for the possibility of transferring him to another school if things didn’t improve. However, I used the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance taught by Master to guide, encourage, and comfort him. As we talked, I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all negative factors interfering with his normal school life and to strengthen his confidence in overcoming difficulties.
His mood gradually improved. He quietly listened and regained his usual innocence, kindness, and peaceful demeanor. He happily said, “Mom, after talking with you, I feel so much better.”
I said, “When you face difficulties, face them calmly. Resolve conflicts with kindness, and don’t hold grudges. Often recite, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ When you feel you were unjustly treated, sincerely reciting these words will make all worries disappear.”
The following day, my son returned to school in high spirits.
A week later, he came home in a much better mood. He cheerfully and eagerly told me about what happened at school. “Mom, everything is great now, and I no longer hate that classmate,” he said. “I approached the classmate who gave me the nickname and asked him if he really thought I look like the letter Q? I told him I was not mad at him. My classmate said I looked fine and he’d stop calling me Q.”
That classmate never called him that nickname again, and they even became good friends. My son added, “If it weren’t for your guidance, Mother, I wouldn’t have talked to him at all. I would have looked for a chance to fight him. Now, I think he’s a good person, he’s not petty at all.”
I was deeply moved and grateful to Master. Compassionate and great Master saved my son, helping him to come out of his pain and confusion and resolve the conflicts and grievances with his classmate. If I hadn’t practiced Falun Dafa, I would have definitely gone to the principal or teachers to seek justice for my son. Master taught us to hold ourselves to the high standards of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and to resolve conflicts with kindness.
