(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhu Yanping Sentenced to One Year in Prison
Ms. Zhu Yanping was sentenced to one year in prison by the Linghai City Court in March or April 2024. She was taken to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison on June 17, 2024.
2. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Li Zongxia and Ms. Li Sulan Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Li Zongxia was recently sentenced to three years and eight months in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by the Yingdong District Court. Ms. Li Sulan was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and fined 8,000 yuan. Ms. Li Zongxia is currently detained in a detention center. Ms. Li Sulan is out on bail.
3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
Three practitioners from Kuiwen District, Ms. Li Ximin, Zhang Jianping, and Ms. Li Shuyun, were sentenced to between 15 and 18 months by the Fangzi District Court on July 3, 2024.
4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Minghua Released after Serving Four Years
Ms. Xu Minghua from Zhuanghe City was arrested on July 11, 2020. She was sentenced to four years in prison by the Pulandian Court around June 2021. She was released from Liaoning Province Women’s Prison on July 11, 2024.
5. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Jia Xiufang Harassed
Ms. Jia Xiufang from Nanzheng District was arrested in mid-October 2023 and detained for 10 days. She has been constantly harassed after she was released. In a recent harassment episode in late June 2024 by officers from the Dahekan Police Station and local community staff members, she was photographed and pressed to sign a guarantee statement.
6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Zhang Guozhi Arrested
Zhang Guozhi was arrested on July 15, 2024. Zhang’s home was ransacked. The police confiscated the Falun Gong books, the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a printer, a cell phone, and some cash.
7. [Yuzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Ren Shuiping and Ms. Chen Caifang Facing a Trial
Ms. Ren Shuiping and Ms. Chen Caifang are scheduled to appear in court soon.
8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lyu Chunyu Released on Medical Parole
Ms. Lyu Chunyu, 72, was sentenced to three years and three months in prison and admitted in the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison in October 2022. A prison guard called her older daughter, Ms. Sun Wenjun, on April 12, 2024, and said that Ms. Lyu had been diagnosed with obstructive jaundice and a space-occupying lesion (a mass in the cranial cavity). The local authorities initially rejected her medical parole application but later approved it. She was released on July 15, 2024. According to her daughter, she had been taking anti-inflammatory drugs for a long time, and her arms and feet were swollen. She has no appetite and can only eat porridge.
9. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Gao Ping Detained in a Brainwashing Center
Mr. Zhou Bingsheng had been detained in a brainwashing center and suffered a cerebral infarction under the persecution. His wife Ms. Gao Ping was threatened by Yang Junwen from the 610 Office, if she wanted her husband back home, she must go to the brainwashing center to replace him. Ms. Gao had no way but to go to the brainwashing center to replace her husband.
10. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Guifang Harassed
Three officers from the Huanghe Road Police Station in Jinfeng District went to search Ms. Zhang Guifang’s home on June 13, 2024. Ms. Zhang, 74, was not at home at that time.
Two officers went to Ms. Zhang’s home the next morning. They inquired whether Ms. Zhang distributed the truth-clarifying materials on May 9, 2024, which Ms. Zhang denied.
11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Meixiang and Ms. Li Meijuan Harassed
Four persons from Pingdu City 610 Office including Dai Yugang, went to Dongliu Village of Yunshan Town to harass Ms. Wang Meixiang and Ms. Li Meijuan on July 3, 2024. In Ms. Wang’s home, they tore off two wall posters with information about Falun Gong and confiscated a media player.
12. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Yuanjun Arrested and Detained
Mr. Wang Yuanjun, 58, came to work in Harbin City from Huludao City, Liaoning Province. He was arrested at his workplace by two officers from Bin County of Harbin City on the afternoon of July 12, 2024. He was taken to the Bin County Detention Center in the evening.
13. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaoqin Harassed
Two officers from the Jiacun Town Police Station of Wangdu County went to Ms. Zhang Xiaoqin’s home in Beijia Village at 5 pm. on July 10, 2024. They tried to take her photo, which she refused. Wei Guanglei, head of the police station, was called in. The police searched her home and tore off her wall posters.
14. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Jin Detained
It was learned that practitioner Jin (last name and gender unknown) has been detained for a period of time. Jin has been under long-term mobile phone surveillance before the arrest.
