(Minghui.org) One afternoon during the October 1st holiday, I accompanied one of my friends on a dinner date. My guy friend, who was divorced, had been set up by a matchmaker to meet a divorced woman teahouse owner, and I joined as a companion.
We drove together to the restaurant. Sitting in the passenger seat, I pondered how to introduce the truth about Falun Dafa and help the teahouse owner quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations during dinner (my friend and the matchmaker had already quit).
On the way to the restaurant, we encountered a police checkpoint. A police officer was standing in the middle of the road holding a stop sign, stopping each vehicle for an ID check by a group of officers. My heart skipped a beat, as my ID card had been flagged by the CCP before. However, I immediately reminded myself that a practitioner should remain unaffected by fear. Before I could think further, our car reached the checkpoint. The officer looked at us but didn’t stop our car for inspection. I let out a sigh of relief.
The restaurant was just across the road from the checkpoint, but the teahouse owner missed the turn. Due to the divider in the middle of the road and the traffic, we couldn’t reverse or turn around immediately. We had to drive further ahead and make a big round turn, meaning we would have to pass through the checkpoint again. My heart sank—how could this happen? We had just made it through. Could we pass through a second time?
I nervously suggested to the teahouse owner, “Let me get out here, and I’ll walk to the restaurant.” She ignored me and kept driving.
As the checkpoint approached, I felt cornered. I resolved in my heart that as a Falun Dafa practitioner, I am under divine protection and possess righteous abilities. How could mere police officers stop us? With this thought, I raised one hand and repeatedly recited the verses Master had given us to send forth righteous thoughts.
Our car quickly reached the checkpoint. Every vehicle in front of us had been stopped for inspection without exception. I saw the officer at the checkpoint staring at our car. I focused my gaze on him, sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all evil factors, dark minions, and rotten demons behind the checkpoint and the officers. At that moment, the officer seemed frozen in place. The teahouse owner stepped on the gas, and we zipped past the checkpoint.
At the restaurant, the people at our table remarked on our good fortune, noting that the checkpoint usually inspects every vehicle during the holidays. That evening, I successfully helped the teahouse owner quit the CCP. However, I regretted not directly sharing the truth about the persecution of Falun Dafa during dinner due to various reasons. Nonetheless, I believe this laid the groundwork for future conversations.
Looking back, I still feel a bit of fear. I had a truth-clarification leaflet with me at the time. If we had been stopped, the consequences could have been severe. Thank you, Master, for your protection!
This experience taught me that as a Falun Dafa practitioner, nothing happens by chance. Often, the evil’s persecution stems from our own attachments. During the first checkpoint encounter, I remembered Master’s teaching about staying unmoved, but I still harbored fear, leading to the second encounter. Despite lingering fear during the second encounter, the righteous thoughts of a Dafa practitioner are powerful, and with Master’s reinforcement, we passed the test smoothly.
This incident exposed my many attachments and lack of strong righteous thoughts. What can I do? Only by diligently striving forward can I meet the standard of a Falun Dafa practitioner and fulfill my historic mission.
