(Minghui.org) The Art of Zhen-Shan-Zhen international exhibition opened in the city of Svilengrad, Bulgaria on October 20, 2025, in the city’s Historical Museum. The exhibition will be on display for a month, until November 20, and residents will have the opportunity to experience Falun Dafa’s universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance through art.
The paintings, created by Falun Dafa practitioner artists from around the world, show the beauty of their spiritual experiences, as well as the resilience of practitioners in the face of 26 years of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Svilengrad borders Greece and Turkey. The city is situated on both banks of the Maritsa River, and is one of the gateways to Bulgaria. The historical museum was the home of Dr. Tsukrovski, a Russian immigrant and influential physician in the area.
Falun Dafa practitioners from Stara Zagora welcomed the residents of Svilengrad who attended the exhibition opening, and explained the story of each painting, why the exhibition was held, and the messages conveyed by the paintings.
Museum Director: These Paintings Elevate People Out of the Everyday
Elena Miteva is the longtime director of the Historical Museum in Svilengrad. She is the recipient of the Golden Pen award of the Union of Bulgarian Journalists for her work.

Ms. Miteva said this exhibition is interesting because it’s “A different kind of exhibition.” She added that China is sparking interest in a new era, especially since the theme presented through the artworks is very different and less familiar to local residents.
“The struggle between good and evil is something that accompanies man. What is this universal human trait that should excite us—goodness, evil, tolerance, wisdom? One can ponder many questions while looking at the light in these paintings,” she said. “And they remind us that it is not always light. Darkness comes, but after darkness comes light, which always brings with it a thrill.”
Ms. Miteva said that this exhibition is a catalyst for creativity, where a person can rise above the everyday, the earthly, and everything related to the material world around us, in order to derive satisfaction from the fact that he or she is a sublime human being.
Journalist Finds Falun Dafa Again Through Exhibition
“I am glad that through art I was able to reconnect with the spiritual practice of Falun Dafa,” said journalist Klara Metodieva. She said that many years ago, she tried out Falun Dafa after two young men once came to her town’s community center and introduced the practice. They told people about Falun Dafa and demonstrated the exercises. After that presentation, they started doing the exercises in a park.
“I am very impressed by the paintings you present. In this exhibition, we see so much meaning and content of people’s feelings and experiences. The paintings truly reflect a great deal of emotion,” she said.

As an artist, Nedeva shared her impressions of the artworks, “A very masterful depiction of human figures and situations, some of which cause anxiety, while others depict great beauty and the elevation of the soul.
“The exhibition impresses with its ability to depict real events and real forms and considers the artists to be very skilled masters,” she added.
