(Minghui.org) A company executive in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, has been detained for weeks because he practices Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since 1999.

Mr. Liang Guimin, in his 40s, the vice president of the Hanyang District Jiaoshi Technology Group, was arrested at work on October 20, 2025. He is currently held at a local detention center.

Mr. Liang’s wife doesn’t work and she struggles to provide for their two young children.

Mr. Liang was the president of a local bank. He was arrested and lost his job in 2021 after he was reported by a student for talking to him about Falun Gong. The police ransacked his home and confiscated all his valuables and savings. He stood trial at the Wuchang District Court on August 26, 2022. It’s not clear whether he was sentenced.

Mr. Liang graduated with dual master’s degrees from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and China University of Geosciences. He won a national speech contest and is listed as a top-50 short story writer on Zhihu (Chinese version of Quora, a question and answer website). Not long before his arrest, he won an award of the 2025 “Global Literature Cup” Chinese Poetry and Prose Annual Competition.
