(Minghui.org) A woman in her 60s has been detained for five months for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999. Her daughter is working tirelessly to seek justice for her.

Ms. Dai Cuiping, of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, was arrested at home on the evening of July 14, 2025, by officers Zhang Hai and Yang Jie from the Xiyuan Police Station. Her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and the printer were confiscated.

Ms. Dai’s family went to the police station the next day to inquire about her case. Zhang told them that she had been put on criminal detention at the Chengdu City Detention Center. He said that the arrest was triggered by a tip from security guard Wei Yufeng of the Shangjin Yiyuan Residential Park that someone had distributed Falun Gong materials there. After poring over the surveillance footage, the police confirmed that it was Ms. Dai. They later submitted her case to the Gaoxin District Procuratorate.

Ms. Dai’s daughter went to the procuratorate on October 27 and confirmed that her mother’s case had been registered there, but the receptionist refused to reveal the name of the prosecutor assigned to the case.

When the daughter returned to the procuratorate on October 30 to submit her application to represent her mother, the receptionist denied that they had received the case. Another staffer ordered her to go home and wait for updates.

Ms. Dai’s daughter wrote to the Gaoxin District Procuratorate, Chengdu City Procuratorate, and Chengdu Discipline Inspection and Supervision Committee on November 3, demanding her mother’s release. She filed a complaint against the police on November 4. As she didn’t receive any response, she wrote follow-up letters to the Gaoxin District Procuratorate on November 11 and the Chengdu City Procuratorate on November 21.

On November 26, Ms. Dai’s daughter went to the Gaoxin District Procuratorate to check for updates and met prosecutor Cao and his assistant Fu. She reminded them that the persecution of Falun Gong is unlawful and urged them not to follow the communist regime in persecuting law-abiding citizens like her mother.
