(Minghui.org) Minghui.org recently learned that a man in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, has been sentenced to three years for his faith in Falun Gong.

Mr. Wang Xiaohong, in his 60s, was initially arrested on June 11, 2024, by Jiangxia District Domestic Security Office agents, fter he was reported for distributing Falun Gong materials. The police confiscated his Falun Gong books and 27,000 yuan in cash. Only 7,000 yuan was eventually returned, but the police issued a “receipt” for the remaining 20,000 yuan signed by, “The People’s Police.”

Mr. Wang was taken to the Jiangxia District Hospital for a physical exam. Due to his dangerously high blood pressure, he was deemed unfit for detention and released around 1 a.m.

The police arrested Mr. Wang again on July 16, 2024, and still had to release him on bail later that day as his blood pressure remained very high.

When the police arrested Mr. Wang a third time in late August 2024, they did not let his family know where he was being detained. Minghui.org learned in November 2024 that he had been issued a formal arrest warrant but not precisely when. His family only recently heard about his prison sentence, but they don’t know any details about his prosecution or his current location.

Mr. Wang’s wife Ms. Wang Qiyan is also a Falun Gong practitioner. Both of them were arrested on May 31, 2011, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were later given forced labor camp terms, and Ms. Wang suffered a mental breakdown after being tortured in custody.

Prior to Mr. Wang’s latest arrest, Ms. Wang was arrested and held in a psychiatric hospital. She was released at an unknown time, only to find out that Mr. Wang had been arrested and sentenced again. She is currently staying with her mother.
