(Minghui.org) Minghui.org recently confirmed that two Molidawa Daur Autonomous Banner, Inner Mongolia residents have been sentenced to prison for their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Zhang Youguang, in his 40s, was arrested in August 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong on his cellphone. He was sentenced to four years in 2024 and has been admitted to the Baoanzhao Prison.
Ms. Zhao Shuzhi, 67, was arrested on June 3, 2024. She was held at the Arun Banner Detention Center and later sentenced to two and a half years. She has started serving time at the Hohhot Women’s Prison.
This isn’t the first time that Ms. Zhao has been targeted for her faith. She was previously arrested nine times between July 1999 and April 2020. She served three labor camp terms and two prison terms. Her husband divorced her in 2012. When she was forced to live away from home to hide from the police, the police constantly harassed her family members instead. Her pension was suspended when she was serving her second prison term (April 2020 – March 2023) at the Hohhot First Women’s Prison. The police harassed Ms. Zhao on May 14, 2024 after a bakery reported her for ordering a cake with the words “Falun Dafa is good,” to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day on May 13.
