(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 3 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 32 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Chunying and Ms. Sheng Guilan Face Indictment
2. [Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Mengjun, 73, Admitted to Prison
3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Geng Caixia Detained
1. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Chunying and Ms. Sheng Guilan Face Indictment
Nearly 30 Falun Gong practitioners in Yanji City were arrested on January 9, 2025. Most of them also had their homes ransacked. Ms. Xu Chunying and Ms. Sheng Guilan were released a day later, after they were denied admission by the detention center due to their advanced age, heart disease, or high blood pressure. The rest, most of whom are in their 60s or 70s, were held in a brainwashing center for two days and released on January 11, 2025.
Ms. Xu and Ms. Sheng were summoned to the procuratorate on January 16, 2025, and ordered to sign their bail release document. A prosecutor called Ms. Sheng again on January 20, demanding that she sign more paperwork about her case.
2. [Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Mengjun, 73, Admitted to Prison
Ms. Li Mengjun, 73, was arrested by Xingfu Town Police Station officers on July 25, 2023, and held in the Anqing Detention Center. The Dujiangyan City Court sentenced her to three and a half years in prison on August 20, 2024. She has been admitted to the Sichuan Province Women’s Prison. In 2010, she was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison.
3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Geng Caixia Detained
Ms. Geng Caixia was arrested at home on January 15, 2025, after officers from Nanfan Police Station broke in by prying open her door. She was held in the Tangshan City First Detention Center for a week and released on the evening of January 23, 2025.
