(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 8 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Jin Baocun from the Wanghua District was arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong at Nangou Farmers’ Market on April 24, 2024. He was released on bail the following day. He was tried by the Wanghua District Court on November 4, 2024. The prosecutor of Wanghua District Procuratorate suggested sentencing him to three years in prison.
Mr. Jin was admitted to the Fushun City Detention Center after the trial. He received the verdict of a three-year sentence and 10,000-yuan fine shortly after. He was transferred to the Jinzhou Prison around mid-March 2025.
Ms. Zhu Bingjuan was arrested on March 11, 2025, by the police from Sangongli Sub-district who broke into her home.
Ms. Wang Junping, 77, from Fengtai District, talked to a college student on October 18, 2024, about Falun Gong and tried to persuade the student to quit the Chinese Communist Party. The student reported her to the police. Ms. Wang was arrested on the same day. She was taken to a police station for a brief interrogation and then released.
The police arrested her again at home on February 18, 2025. She is being held in the Fengtai District Detention Center.
Ms. Chang Qingzhi from Xinglongtai District was arrested by the local police and had her home ransacked on the afternoon of March 10, 2025. She is being held in Panjin City Third Detention Center. Her family members have not been allowed to visit her.
Ms. Gao Shuxia was arrested on August 24, 2022, for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was sentenced to two years and six months in prison. She has been released on February 23, 2025.
Officers from Liuhan Township Police Station in Yongnian District made phone calls on February 27, 2025, to harass Ms. Zhang Congqin and her daughter Ms. Liu Xiaomin in Beiyingu Village, and Ms. Qi Zhengyun in Liuhan Village.
On March 12, Gao Weiming, the Chinese Communist Party secretary of Beiyingu Village, led officers from Liuhan Township Police Station to Ms. Zhang’s home to take her pictures against her will.
