(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Nine Practitioners to Be Tried

1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Nine Practitioners to Be Tried
Nine practitioners, including Ms. Li Huanzhen, 69; Ms. Zheng Cuilan, 78; Ms. Liu Cuixian, 73; Ms. Liu Xiaoping, 68; Ms. Ma Ling, 68; Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen, 66; Mr. Bi Sheng, 62; Ms. Yang Huifang, 57; and Ms. Zhu Yongzhen (age unknown), were scheduled to appear in the Xishan District Court at 9:30 a.m. on March 26, 2025.
2. [Beijing] Ms. Zhu Ying Sentenced to Prison; Three Practitioners Monitored
Ms. Zhu Ying was sentenced to two years in prison by the Chengde City Court in Hebei Province. She has appealed the verdict.
From late February through mid-March 2025, before and during the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in Beijing, Mr. Zhao Shaokuan from the Changping District, Ms. Xing Guiling from Tong County, and Ms. Wang Yuhong from the Chaoyang District were followed and monitored by the authorities.
3. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Liang Zhenhong Abused in Custody
Liang Zhenhong, gender unknown, posted articles and several videos about Falun Gong on the social media app Kuaishou in August 2023, which were tracked down by the Internet police. Liang was seized by officers from the Yongle Police Station in the Tiexi District on July 15, 2024, and officially arrested on July 29. The Tiexi District Police Department submitted Liang’s case to Lishan District Procuratorate on January 15, 2025. The prosecutor recently returned the case to the police for unknown reasons.
4. [Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Jin Haien’s Four-year Term Ended
Mr. Jin Haien from Yuanping City, a subordinate county-level city in Xinzhou City, was arrested and admitted to the Yuanping City Detention Center by Yuanping City Domestic Security Division officers on May 10, 2019. He suffered a myocardial infarction complicated by several other health issues in early April 2021. He was in intensive care in a Yuanping city-level hospital for six days. The hospital issued two notices of critical condition. The detention center eventually arranged with the Xinfu District Court for his release on bail, leaving his family to care for the critically ill man.
In spite of Mr. Jin’s condition, the Xinfu District Court sentenced him to four years in prison in September 2021. He was allowed to serve time outside of prison. His term has ended on March 17, 2025.
5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Xiumei Harassed
Ding Wenqing, Chinese Communist Party secretary of Hongwei Village in Handian Town in the Shuangcheng District, and others harassed Ms. Li Xiumei at home on March 9, 2025. They took photos of her and ordered her to stop practicing Falun Gong. She refused to comply.
6. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Haijun Arrested
Mr. Liu Haijun, 72, from the Zhangqiu District was arrested at home by officers from the Guanzhuang and Longshan Police Stations on the afternoon of March 14, 2025. His home was ransacked. He was taken to Guanzhuang Police Station and released that evening.
