(Minghui.org) Twenty-six years have gone by since April 25, 1999. I still recall the scene that day as vividly as if it happened yesterday.
In May 1995, my husband’s workplace was not doing well. With a relative’s help, we opened a repair shop in Beijing. My relative, his entire family, and I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997.
I read Falun Dafa’s main book Zhuan Falun , whenever I had a spare moment. The first time I read it, I felt this wasn’t an ordinary book, and I read it cover to cover in 7 days. Since then, I have never stopped reading it. I did the exercises every day and introduced the practice to people on Sundays. When I went to the local Fa study on April 24, 1999, I learned that 45 practitioners in Tianjin were arrested. An article defaming Falun Gong was published in the paper, and practitioners went to the newspaper office to explain what Falun Dafa is and how it has benefited them. The staff refused to listen, and the Tianjin police arrested practitioners. I heard that some practitioners planned to go to Beijing the next day, on April 25, to appeal to central authorities.
After I went home, I thought about the incident, and I could not sleep that night. I thought of how fortunate I was to practice Falun Dafa. In less than a year, my illnesses, such as gallstones and an inner ear disorder, disappeared. My body felt as light as a feather, and I experienced the wonderful feeling of being free of illness. When I went back to my hometown for the New Year, I said excitedly the moment I stepped into the house: “Mother, I’ve begun practicing Falun Dafa. All my illnesses are gone. I feel great.” My mother said, “That’s great!” When she saw how healthy I was, she said, “I no longer have to worry about you.”
My family began to practice Falun Dafa.
Having practiced for two years, I knew there was nothing wrong with Master’s teaching us to be good people and to follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. How could the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) arrest practitioners? Was it because the authorities didn’t know what Falun Dafa is? I felt it was the practitioners’ responsibility to clarify the issue with China’s top officials. I should let them know that practitioners are good people and there’s nothing wrong with practicing Falun Dafa.
The next morning, as usual, I rode my bicycle to the practice site, swept the floor clean, and when everyone arrived, we did the exercises.
I said to Ms Liu, who was next to me, “I won’t do the sitting meditation today. I want to go to Beijing to appeal.” She understood at once and said, “I’ll go with you.” We went to her house, took Zhuan Falun and steamed buns, and then took the bus to Fuyou Street. When we arrived at Zhongnanhai, since it was only 6:30 a.m., there weren’t many people. We stood near the footpath, and many practitioners soon arrived. We nodded at one another and did not say anything. We did not block the footpath. I was in the first row, and there were two rows of practitioners behind me. We read Zhuan Falun. There was a path for the blind behind me and behind it, another three rows of practitioners sat, some read books, others meditated. Everyone was quiet; no one chatted.
Police officers stood opposite us on the main road, one officer a meter apart. We did not make a scene, shout slogans, or behave inappropriately.
Around 4:00 that afternoon, a few practitioners were invited to go to the Zhongnanhai office and meet with high ranking officials.
We continued to stand quietly. Suddenly, some practitioners said they saw a rainbow in the sky. I looked up and indeed, there was a colorful rainbow! I knew Master was encouraging us. Some practitioners saw Falun (law wheels). The representatives of practitioners came out just past 8:00 p.m., and we were told the meeting concluded successfully. Our requests were resolved.
We went home after hearing the news. Before we left, we picked up all the rubbish on the street including the cigarette butts discarded by the police. Every part of the street was clean and tidy, such is the demeanor of Falun Dafa practitioners. We happily went to the practice site every morning to do the exercises. However, not long after, on July 20, 1999, former leader Jiang Zemin launched a fanatic suppression and claimed he would eradicate Falun Dafa in three months. The practitioners who were beaten to death would be treated as suicides. The regime mobilized the entire nation’s propaganda machine and used a quarter of the country’s economic resources to persecute a group of citizens who had no weapons. Now, 26 years have passed, and the persecution has not stopped.
Master said,
“All beings in the cosmos are repositioning themselves. Humans aren’t worthy of testing this Fa, and neither are gods. Whoever touches it commits a sin. They have seen all of this as well.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Great Lakes Fa Conference in North America,” Guiding the Voyage)
Justice has long arms, good will be rewarded, evil doers will be punished, that is the heavenly principle. However, Master and Dafa are magnificent, as Dafa disciples, how fortunate we are to have walked on the path of Fa rectification till today with Master’s protection! What a powerful righteous force! Only by understanding the truth can people hope to be saved.
My innate nature is pure. I must eliminate anything imposed on me that goes against the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. I will assist Master in Fa rectification and clarify the truth about the persecution to people!
Thank you Master, I will not let you down.
