(Minghui.org) Ms. He Xinfang, 61, from Xingning City, Guangdong Province, was admitted to the Guangdong Province Women’s Prison in November 2024 to serve a four-year term for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
Ms. He was arrested on the morning of February 19, 2024, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Her home was raided by vice captain Xing Zhengquan and his deputies from the Xingning City Domestic Security Division.
The police took Ms. He to a facility in the Meixian District of Meizhou City, which oversees Xingning City. They then transferred her to the Chengdong Detention Center in Meizhou City. At one point they held her in the Meizhou City Third Hospital (a psychiatric hospital) for a brief period of time, even though she had no mental illness.
Ms. He was convicted by the Meixian District Court in Meizhou City in October 2024 and admitted to prison in November. Her daughter wired 1,000 yuan to her bank account after that. When her husband went to withdraw money from the account, he was shocked that the money was gone. A teller told him that the court had garnished the entire 9,000 yuan account balance (8,000 yuan original balance plus the 1,000 yuan from his daughter) to pay his wife’s court fine.
Prior to Ms. He’s latest ordeal, she was repeatedly arrested for practicing Falun Gong, resulting in a two-year forced labor term and a five-year prison term.
While she was living in Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, Ms. He was arrested in 2004 and held in the Huanggang Drug Rehabilitation Center for one week before she was moved to the Sanshui City Brainwashing Center and held for two months. After another arrest on December 12, 2006, she was given two years of forced labor and released in December 2008.
After she moved to Xingning City, Ms. He continued to be persecuted for her faith. She was arrested on December 2, 2013, and sentenced to five years in prison. She was released on November 30, 2017. Four officers raided her home on September 3, 2019, and arrested her. They released her that afternoon and extorted 500 yuan from her to pay for the officers’ lunch.
Ms. He was harassed at home on August 6, 2021, by a female village secretary, He Xiaohong (no relation), and four men.
