(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Meiying’s Whereabouts Unknown Since Her Arrest
2. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wu Yanna Arrested
3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] 85-Year-Old Ms. Chen Guifen Held in Custody
4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Aimin Arrested
5. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Xiaorong Detained
6. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Four Practitioners’ Original Verdicts Upheld
7. [Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xu Ganru Missing for One Year
8. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Zhang Mingming Detained
1. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Meiying’s Whereabouts Unknown Since Her Arrest
Ms. Liu Meiying, 51, was arrested by Goubei Police Station officers on the afternoon of April 9, 2025, after she was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. It is not clear where she is being held.
2. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wu Yanna Arrested
Officers from Jiedong District Domestic Security Division, the Yunlu Town Police Station, and the Quxi Police Station broke into Ms. Wu Yanna’s dormitory in Meigang Middle School on the evening of April 5, 2025, with the excuse that she was about to go out to talk to people about Falun Gong. They ransacked her room and confiscated her Falun Gong books. She is being held in Jiedong Detention Center.
3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] 85-Year-Old Ms. Chen Guifen Held in Custody
Before the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference were held in Beijing in early March 2025, Ms. Chen Guifen, 85, was arrested at her home in Pengzhou City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Chengdu City. She has been detained incommunicado ever since.
4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Aimin Arrested
Officers from the Changyi District Police Department and Minzhu Police Station used an electric drill to break into Ms. Zhang Aimin’s home on the morning of April 14, 2025. They raided her home and took the woman, who is in her 60s and has had both legs amputated, to the police station. It’s not clear if she has been released.
5. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Xiaorong Detained
Ms. Zhang Xiaorong from the Nan’an District was arrested around mid-April 2025 and is still being detained.
6. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Four Practitioners’ Original Verdicts Upheld
Mr. Li Zhuozhong, Ms. Liao Yuanqun, Ms. Liao Juanna, and Mr. Xie Yujun were sentenced to five to years in prison by the Meixian District Court on December 20, 2024. They appealed with the Meizhou City Intermediate Court, which ruled on April 10, 2025, to uphold their original verdicts.
7. [Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xu Ganru Missing for One Year
Ms. Xu Ganru, around 60 and a native of Chaozhou City, moved to Guangzhou City in the same province years ago. She returned to Chaozhou for a high school reunion on April 7, 2024, but hasn’t been heard from since. Practitioners in Guangzhou City are worried about her safety.
8. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Mingming Detained
Mr. Zhang Mingming was arrested on April 9, 2025, when he drove to a neighboring city to mail letters to public security, procuratorial, and judicial personnel to persuade them not to participate in the persecution. The police tracked him down by poring through surveillance camera footage for his license plate. He was detained for five days and released on April 14, 2025.
