April 24, 2025 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Japan

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held a rally and march in Yokohama City, Japan, on April 20, 2025, to commemorate the 26th anniversary of the April 25 peaceful appeal in China.

Several Japanese parliamentarians and Chinese human rights activists attended the rally and gave speeches or sent recorded statements to express their support. They condemned the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong), including the CCP-sanctioned forced organ harvesting. After the rally, a march set off from the square in front of Sakuragicho Station, and passed through tourist areas such as the Red Brick Warehouse and Chinatown. Many people stopped and watched.

Hirosato Nakatugawa, a former member of the House of Representatives, and Fumitaka Nihei, a Koto District Council member, came to support the practitioners’ activities.

Hirosato Nakatugawa, a former member of the House of Representatives, addressed the rally.

Mr. Nakatsugawa has been committed to exposing the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong for 20 years. He said the United States Congress proposed the Falun Gong Protection Act to impose sanctions such as entry denials and the freezing of assets of those who persecute practitioners. He called on the Japanese parliament to pass a similar bill as soon as possible. Before that, a resolution should be passed to condemn China’s human rights violations, especially the issue of forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners.

Mr. Nakatsugawa also said he would defend Falun Gong practitioners, and condemn the CCP’s persecution. He called on practitioners to work together, and said that practitioners are changing China and contributing to world peace.

Mr. Fumitaka Nihei, a member of the Koto District Council, said practitioners who desire freedom and a healthy life should not be deprived of these basic rights, and the CCP’s persecution must not be tolerated.

Fumitaka Nihei, a Koto District Council member, addressed the rally.

He condemned the CCP’s forced organ harvesting, “As a councilor, I am deeply concerned that many Japanese people still do not know about this issue. I will actively speak out, spread the information, and work with more people to resolve the human rights persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.”
