(Minghui.org) After participating in the Sound of Music Festival on June 14 at Burlington, a city in suburban Greater Toronto, the Tian Guo Marching Band participated in the Welland Rose Festival the following day. The performances on both days were well received, and many praised Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. “This is what a band should be,” one spectator said.
Many people applauded, said they liked the performances very much, and wished to see Falun Dafa practitioners again next year.

Positive Energy
Tara said the Tian Guo Marching Band is her favorite.
Tara is the owner of a beauty salon and said this is the first time she’s seen the Tian Guo Marching Band. “I like it very much. The music is awesome and the band members coordinate with each other well,” she said. In particular, she was impressed by the band’s positive energy. She also said the costumes were excellent.
Upon hearing that band members are Falun Dafa practitioners, Tara said she read about Buddhism and wanted to know about Falun Dafa. One practitioner told her she could learn the exercises online for free at learnfalungong.org. Tara thanked her and said she would check it out.
The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are precious, she added. Especially during this Internet era, people need more of these because everyone will benefit.
This Is What Our Society Needs
When the Tian Guo Marching Band passed in the parade, Bonnie took out her phone to take videos. She said she saw them perform last year and liked it very much.
Bonnie said she’s interested in various cultures, including Chinese culture, and she liked the Tian Guo Marching Band’s costumes. A practitioner told her some clothing had elements from the Tang Dynasty and explained to her tian guo means “divine land.” Bonnie was excited to hear this.
The practitioner also mentioned band members practice Falun Dafa, a meditation system that focuses on self-improvement. Bonnie said she liked meditation and was interested in learning more. She said the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are very profound, and watching the band’s performance made her feel peaceful and balanced.
She said our society needs the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She read about the poor human rights conditions in China and felt sorry for the Chinese people who were suffering there. A government should not stop a belief system, let alone detain practitioners, because people have the freedom of belief.
Perfect Performance

The Tian Guo Marching Band was the last group in the Welland Rose Festival parade. Katherine said she watched the Welland Rose Festival for over 50 years and said the Tian Guo March Band’s performance was “perfect!” From their costumes, music, and band member synchronization, she felt everything was the best compared to other bands.
A practitioner thanked her and said the band members practice Falun Dafa and are guided by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Katherine nodded, saying such values are something we should follow. She said we should cherish life and treat each other well. She took the flyer about Falun Dafa and said she would share the information with her family members.
Kathy said she appreciated that the host saved the best performance group for last in the parade, and said the Tian Guo Marching Band’s performance made the event special and memorable.
