(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Guixiang Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
Ms. Sun Guixiang was sentenced to eight years in prison. She is scheduled to be taken to prison in August 2025.
2. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Chen Hongrui was Tried in the Hospital
Mr. Chen Hongrui was tried in a hospital room on the morning of June 4, 2025. The judge did not announce the verdict after adjourning the session.
3. [Taicang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Wang Jian Faces Trial
Mr. Wang Jian was arrested at home by officers from Taicang City Police Department on August 11, 2024, on charges of “using a cult organization to undermine the law enforcement,” the standard pretext used to criminalize Falun Gong in China. He is currently held in the Taicang City Detention Center and scheduled to appear in court in June 2025.
4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested
Officers from Lvyang Town Police Station in Beizhen City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Jinzhou City, and Beizhen City Domestic Security Division arrested eight practitioners on the morning of June 3, 2025. It was known that the police had been planning the arrest for a very long time, and the police in Beizhen City installed many surveillance cameras outside the practitioners’ home and in Luyang Town market, where the practitioners went frequently to raise awareness about the persecution.
The eight practitioners are: Ms. Han Yanjie and her sister Ms. Han Yanwen, Ms. Zhang Man, Ms. Tian Guifen, Ms. Miao, Ms. Li Shuqing, and two practitioners whose names weren’t known. Most of their Falun Gong books and cell phones were confiscated.
To date, Ms. Han Yanjie has been released, while Ms. Zhang was given 15 days of administrative detention. The rest of the practitioners were given criminal detention. Ms. Tian is currently held at Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center.
5. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xu Zhiying Taken to Prison
Ms. Xu Zhiying was sentenced to one year in prison by the Shizhong District Court on November 28, 2024. She appealed to the Leshan City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold the original verdict on February 21, 2025. Ms. Xu was taken back into custody at the Leshan City Detention Center on May 9 and transferred to the Sichuan Province Women’s Prison on June 4.
6. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yuemei and Ms. Yu Xiuzhi Arrested
Ms. Zhang Yuemei, from Qiegezhuang Village, and Ms. Yu Xiuzhi, from Qianhenan Village, both in Zhugou Town, Pingdu City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Qingdao City, were arrested by officers from Zhugou Town Police Station on June 3, 2025. They were taken to Pudong Detention Center in Jimo District, Qingdao City. Ms. Yu’s home was ransacked, and her Falun Gong books were confiscated.
7. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Shuxiang Faces Trial
Ms. Wang Shuxiang from Jiguan District was scheduled to appear in the Jidong Country Court at 9 a.m. on June 9, 2025.
8. [Wuji Country, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Ruichao Arrested
Mr. Li Ruichao, from Qiqia Village, Wuji County, Hebei Province, was arrested by the police in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, for writing messages about Falun Gong in public places. He is now being detained in Zhengzhou City.
9. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Arrested with Her Mother, Ms. Liu Qingling, Still Detained
Ms. Liu Qingling, in her 50s, and her mother, Ms. Li Guiying, in her 80s, of Meijiang District, were arrested by officers from Meijiang District Domestic Security Division on the morning of April 23, 2025. The police also searched them. Ms. Li was released the next day. Ms. Liu has been held in Chengdong Detention Center in Meizhou City since.
10. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Juping and Ms. Li Yuanhui Detained
Ms. Li Juping and Ms. Li Yuanhui, of Zhuwangpu Town, Yongchang County, were arrested on May 14, 2025. They were detained for 15 days and released on May 29, 2025.
11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhou Minglan Held in Detention Center
Ms. Zhou Minglan, 63, from Jiaozhou City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Qingdao City, was arrested by officers from the Madian Police Station on March 22, 2024. She has been detained since.
12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Deng Youzhen Taken to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Deng Youzhen was taken to the Jianghan District Brainwashing Center in the Yusunshan area, Caidian District.
13. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Guijuan Sentenced to Prison in Zhejiang Province
Ms. Yang Guijuan, of Yongqing County, Langfang City, Hebei Province, was sentenced to one year in prison on May 16, 2025, by the Tongxiang City Court in Zhejiang Province. She has appealed to the Jiaxing City Intermediate Court in Zhejiang Province.
