(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the 118th Fourth of July parade in Edmonds, Washington, on July 4, 2025. Over 80 groups took part in the festivities.
Nestled along Puget Sound approximately 15 miles north of Seattle, Edmonds is known for its natural beauty, vibrant arts scene, and historic small town charm.
People Applaud Float and Waist Drums
Practitioners’ float and waist drum team in the Edmonds Fourth of July parade
The Falun Dafa float was decorated with lotus flowers and silky clouds. Practitioners dressed as celestial maidens and in yellow outfits demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises on the float.
In the spirit of Independence Day, the sides of the float were decorated with red, white, and blue bunting. Spectators on either side of the parade route waved to practitioners, who said they wanted to spread Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to everyone.
The waist drum team that came from Seattle played “Falun Dafa Is Good” and “Celebration.” The spectators applauded and cheered whenever the music stopped.
Spectators Express Happiness and Joy
Many people along the parade route complimented Falun Dafa practitioners on their entry and waved to them. Some danced in time to the waist drums. A parent pointed at the practitioners on the float and told her children, “Look! Fairies!”
Several practitioners walked alongside the float and handed out Falun Dafa flyers. After seeing the performance, many asked for information.
Practitioners explained that the exercises are simple and easy to learn and can help improve a person’s physical and mental health.
When the practitioners’ procession reached the podium, the host announced: “Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual practice that promotes physical and mental health. The practice includes exercises and meditation and teaches people to improve their moral character according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. It originated in China and is now practiced in more than 100 countries. Falun Dafa is free for everyone. To learn more, please visit www.falundafa.org.”
After they heard about the ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China, some people asked for flyers and said they wanted to know more about it. They also expressed their support for practitioners’ efforts to raise awareness of the persecution and end it.
