(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held a commemorative event in front of the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas on July 20, 2025, to mark 26 years of peacefully protesting the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. They exposed the regime’s atrocities and called for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong.
Despite the summer heat in Las Vegas, with temperatures still around 100°F (38°C) even in the evening, the Strip was crowded with people. Practitioners set up tents along the boulevard with display boards and banners. They demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises, held a candlelight vigil, distributed flyers, and collected signatures to call for an end to the persecution.

As tourists passed by in a constant stream, some expressed interest in learning Falun Dafa, while others stopped to read the banners and talk with practitioners.
Twenty-six years have passed since July 20, 1999, when the CCP first launched its all-out persecution campaign against Falun Gong. The CCP sought to destroy practitioners physically and financially, and to damage their reputations. The persecution has only escalated over the years, with the CCP now harvesting organs from practitioners against their will.
In recent years, the CCP has even expanded its oppressive tactics beyond China into democratic countries, engaging in transnational repression. This includes spreading false information about Falun Gong, defaming Shen Yun Performing Arts, and making bomb threats. Yet, in the face of this madness, Falun Gong practitioners have never ceased their efforts to call for an end to the persecution.
Public Support for Falun Gong
The peaceful event drew many passersby to stop and read the display boards and listen to practitioners explain what the event was about. Many of them signed a petition calling for an end to the CCP’s atrocities.

Chris, who is from Las Vegas, was already aware of the CCP’s authoritarian rule. “The Chinese people are not the problem; the Chinese Communist Party is. The Chinese people are wonderful. The CCP fears the spread of democratic and free thought,” he said.
He was appalled when he learned about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, especially the forced organ harvesting.
“People need to wake up,” he said. “The CCP is trying to spread communism globally, but as long as America remains strong, it won’t succeed. Many Americans take our freedom and human rights for granted, but people in dictatorships don’t have these things.”
After learning more about practitioners’ efforts to end the persecution, he signed the petition and said, “I’m glad to support this. I hope you collect as many signatures as possible and stop the persecution. What you’re doing is very meaningful. I wish you great success.”
Spanish Tourist: “The CCP Is Guilty”
Keseme, a tourist from Spain, was visiting Las Vegas with her family. She was intrigued to see practitioners doing the exercises and followed along with the third set of movements.

When she asked if it was yoga, a practitioner explained, “This is not yoga. It’s Falun Gong, a cultivation practice involving five gentle exercises that help practitioners achieve inner peace and benefit both mind and body.” Keseme was very interested.
After learning about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong in China, she was upset and said, “The CCP is guilty.”
Students from the University of Nevada, Reno: “Your Spreading the Truth Is Amazing”
Kristian, Kales, and Jayden, students from the University of Nevada in Reno, were on vacation in Las Vegas. They had heard about the persecution in China, and one of them said, “This is truly awful and evil.”

Practitioners told them about the Falun Gong Protection Act, which passed in the U.S. House of Representatives on May 5 this year and is now pending in the Senate. This was the first time for the House to pass a bill to legally sanction individuals involved in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners and harvesting their organs. The act demands that the CCP immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong.
They expressed their support for the legislation, with one of them saying, “This is a great bill.”
They also told the practitioners, “You’re amazing.” They took flyers to share with their family and friends, signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution, and took a group photo to commemorate the moment.
