(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Vancouver held a march and rally in the city center on July 20, 2025, to call for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 26-year persecution of Falun Gong. The event was also to raise awareness of and help end the CCP’s transnational repression of Falun Gong. Many onlookers expressed their support for practitioners’ peaceful resistance to the persecution.
The march was led by the Tian Guo Marching Band and followed by practitioners with banners in English and Chinese that read: “Stop CCP Transnational Repression of Falun Gong,” “The CCP Persecuted 80 Million Chinese People to Death,” “Persecution Will End When the CCP Ends,” and “Falun Dafa Is Great.”

The procession made its way down the city center’s busiest street, attracting many tourists who stopped to watch and take photos and videos. Many passersby waved to practitioners, while others read the banners aloud.
Several days before the march, on July 16, 2025, practitioners held a rally at the Chinese Consulate in Vancouver. They formed a “Great Wall” of truth with banners that exposed the CCP’s evil acts. They also held a candlelight vigil to commemorate practitioners who have died in the persecution over the past 26 years in China due to their steadfast belief in Falun Gong.

The CCP Extended the Persecution Overseas
In the 1990s, because of Falun Dafa’s tremendous effects in improving people’s health and morality after they started to live by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, more than 100 million Chinese people started to cultivate. On July 20, 1999, the CCP began an organized persecution of these people, and, since then, countless numbers of them have been arrested or killed or simply gone missing. Some were detained in concentration camps, waiting for their organs to be harvested if someone needing a transplant matched their blood and tissue type.
Over the past two years, the Chinese regime has even used tactics, such as death threats, lawfare, and manipulation of Western media to expand its persecution of Falun Gong to Western society.
At the rally on July 16, 2025, Vancouver Falun Dafa Association’s representative Ms. Fang said that, in recent years, the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong has extended overseas. Some media have quoted from news sources that have ties with the CCP, employed reporters that are related to the CCP, and reiterated the lies that the CCP has been steadily fabricating over the past 26 years.
Ms. Fang hopes that the world will learn about the CCP’s threats and transnational repression of Falun Gong and that more people will know the truth about Falun Gong.
People Like Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance
Liang Zhenyu (alias) from Hong Kong knows several Falun Gong practitioners and thinks that they are very good people, “Meeting them just makes me feel good,” he said. Mr. Liang participated in the march to show his support for Falun Gong practitioners’ efforts to end the persecution.
“I feel that the three words ‘Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance’ are very good for this world. They are values with a positive impact,” he said.
Another tourist, Mr. Scooner, walked with the procession the entire way. He thinks that Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are very good values: “They are values that everyone should have.
“This is really great. Falun Gong is a great practice, and the Chinese regime’s persecution of the practitioners is outrageous. It is so cruel.”
Beginner: Moved by Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance
Jim of Vancouver said that he was moved by Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, so he decided to take up the practice just 15 days ago. He thinks that today’s moral standards are declining rapidly: “I chose Falun Gong, a cultivation practice, to escape from such a fallen world.”
Just over two weeks ago, Jim was having trouble controling his emotions because he was so upset by all the problems in the world today. “I have social problems and poor emotional control. I’ve seen Chinese and Western doctors, but nothing they did for me worked. They had completely given up on me,” he said.
After studying Falun Gong’s main book Zhuan Falun, Jim started to change: “I learned how to control myself. I’ve just started learning how to drive and in the past when I drove, I kept getting into conflicts and quarreling with my instructor. Since I’ve been practicing Falun Gong, I am able to accept criticism when I drive,” he said.
Jim also said, “Since I’ve been cultivating, I have learned not to cause additional trouble for others. I no longer feel upset when I deal with things, and I am no longer impatient with people. I’ve really improved a lot, and I am very touched.”
Taiwan Immigrant: People Are Awakened and There Is Hope for Change
Mr. Wu, a Taiwanese immigrant, said that he knows that the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong has been going on for many years. The CCP even harvests Falun Gong practitioners’ organs while they are still alive. Mr. Wu said that he respects Falun Gong practitioners’ efforts to end the persecution from the bottom of his heart and feels especially sorry for the practitioners in China.
When he heard from a practitioner that the CCP has extended its persecution overseas in recent years, Mr. Wu said that he knows about the CCP’s infiltration into democratic countries like Taiwan and Canada. He said, “That really is a pity. If that Party was not in power, China would be better.”
Seeing so many Falun Gong practitioners coming out to tell people about the practice, Mr. Wu was full of compliments and said he could see hope for change.
“When I first came and saw so many Falun Gong practitioners, I felt that they were really courageous. I think that, if more people can awaken and everyone’s powers can be gathered together, there will be a chance for change,” Mr. Wu said.
“I tink that more and more people who came out of China are changing their notions. In the past, some Chinese did not dare to talk about this, but in these recent few years, more and more Chinese will talk to you about these topics.”
Polish Couple: The CCP Should Be Stopped
Ola, who came from Poland, said she experienced similar persecution as Falun Gong practitioners.
“The communist party is very bad. I came from Poland, so I know that they are very bad,” she said. She said this was the first time she had ever heard about forced organ harvesting and people being killed for their organs.
Mark, Ola’s husband, agreed with what the practitioners were doing to call for an end to the persecution, “Raising awareness can help stop this from happening,” he said. “The more people you tell about this, the more pressure will be exerted on China. That’s the only way you can stop this.”
A Western woman said that she comes every year to watch the Falun Gong practitioners’ march calling for an end to the persecution. She said, “They are very kind people. They often come out to call for an end to the persecution, just like today. I want to tell them that, ‘You are doing the right thing!’”
Mr. Edinn, a tourist, was intrigued by the banners. When he saw one that read “Falun Gong Practitioners Killed for Organs in China,” he said, “This is terrible!”
