Mother of Three Young Children Arrested for Her Faith, Given Violent Physical Examination

July 9, 2025 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Hebei Province, China

(Minghui.org) A resident of Cang County, Hebei Province, was arrested on May 13, 2025, for her faith in Falun Gong. She was taken for a physical examination the next day, and about seven police officers held her down to do an electrocardiogram, a chest X-ray, and a blood draw.

The guards at the Cang County Detention Center declined to admit Ms. Jin Yue upon seeing her examination results. Captain Zhao Junfeng from the Cang County Domestic Security Division, who punched Ms. Jin on the head and back during the checkup, said that he had permission from the local Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the detention center director, Ma, to detain her.

While Ms. Ma remains in custody, her three young children are crying for her every day.

Details of Arrest

Ms. Jin lives in Chenyu Village, Daguanting Township, Cang County. On the morning of May 11, 2025, she went to the Daguanting Township Post Office to mail a complaint letter she wrote against the perpetrators who persecuted her in the past for her faith in Falun Gong.

That afternoon, she received notice that the recipient of the complaint letter had signed the registered mail. However, something felt off, so she called the post office to voice her concerns. A postal worker said that the complaint letter was picked up by the local police.

Ms. Jin returned to the post office at 9 a.m. on May 13, 2025, to inquire about this matter. Two police officers came, and she asked to see their chief. Captain Zhao and his deputy chief Li Yongsheng of the Cang County Domestic Security Division came instead. They grabbed her hair and dragged her into their cruiser.

At 8 a.m. on May 14, 2025, Ms. Jin’s mother-in-law took her three children to the Cang County Domestic Security Division to seek her release. Captain Zhao kept the older woman in custody for about four hours before releasing her. It’s not clear whether Ms. Jin’s three children were detained during that time.

While Ms. Jin’s mother-in-law was held at the domestic security division, Ms. Jin was taken to the Cangzhou City Health Center for a physical examination. After that, she was put in the Cang County Detention Center.

Past Persecution

This is not the first time that Ms. Jin has been targeted for her faith. She was previously arrested multiple times.

Secretary Zhang Zhenchang of Chenyu Village led Li and three other officers to raid Ms. Jin’s home on August 20, 2014. Her six-month-old child and ten-year-old niece were so terrified that they cried loudly. She refused to sign the paperwork, and the police ordered her neighbor to sign on her behalf. Her Falun Gong books and portrait of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated.

Wang Hui, Liu, and Wang from the Daguanting Township Government, together with officers Ma Xin and Zhang Peng, broke into Ms. Jin’s workplace on December 10, 2020. Village Luo Jian led the group there.

Ms. Jin’s supervisor was instructed to step outside. Wang yelled to her, “You must sign a guarantee statement promising not to practice Falun Gong again!” She said no and Wang took her picture and video-recorded her with a cell phone.

Ma took Ms. Jin to another room and asked her to “do him a favor to sign the statement.” He promised not to allow others to “bother” her again. She still said no, and they all left, only to harass her brother the next day. Her brother was unable to cope and called her to disown her as his sister.

Three officers searched for Ms. Jin at home and at work on the morning of December 12, 2020. They couldn’t find her and relayed a message to her family and supervisor, ordering her to report to them.

At around 3 p.m. on December 17, 2020, officer Lin Shiwang from the Daguanting Township Police Station led two people to Ms. Jin’s workplace and seized her there.

During the interrogation at the police station, Ms. Jin refused to sign paperwork despite captain Liu Guoliang’s repeated threats. Her phone then rang and she stepped outside to answer the call. The police yelled for her to come back, and she kept running. Four officers caught her and carried her to the police station’s courtyard.

Ms. Jin’s mother-in-law brought two of her children to the police station to seek her release. One officer said to her crying children, “Stop crying! Ask your grandma to persuade your mom not to practice Falun Gong anymore.” Her young children shook their heads because they knew their mother did nothing wrong.

The police eventually released Ms. Jin after 7 p.m. that day, even though she firmly refused to sign any statement.

Two officers broke into Ms. Jin’s workplace on April 15, 2021, and questioned if she still practiced Falun Gong. They took photos of her against her will before leaving.

Two officers from the Daguanting Township Police Station, including Xu Liyong, harassed Ms. Jin at home in late September 2022.

At about 7:00 a.m. on April 17, 2024, captain Zhao led officers Li and Bai Jianhua to raid Ms. Jin’s home, confiscating all her Falun Gong books, printers, and copy paper. They grabbed her hair and dragged her into their cruiser. Her children cried in fear. She was taken to the Cang County Detention Center and not released until April 25 that year.

Four officers, including Li and Bai, harassed Ms. Jin at work on September 25, 2024.

Li and Bai searched for Ms. Jin at work and home on the morning of April 21, 2025. She was not at either place, and they ordered her family to deliver her to them in the afternoon.
