(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held an event in Delft on Saturday, September 6, 2025, to introduce Dafa and expose the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of the practice. The activity was warmly received.

Delft’s central square was crowded with tourists and the weather was beautiful. Falun Dafa practitioners set up a booth near the New Church, by the canal. They displayed information boards, demonstrated the Dafa exercises, distributed flyers, and talked with passersby. Many people stopped at the booth. Among them were Chinese international students who signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. Many tourists said they were drawn by the graceful Falun Dafa exercise movements, and a number asked where they could learn the exercises.

Overview of Delft

Delft is located in the province of South Holland in the western Netherlands, and is surrounded by a canal. William of Orange, the founder of the Dutch royal family, began his reign in Delft. The Delft University of Technology (TUD-Technische Universiteit Delft), which was founded in 1842, is ranked among the world’s top universities. The IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, a UNESCO water knowledge and training center, is located near the city’s central train station and attracts international students and researchers from around the world for exchange and training.

International Students Condemn the Persecution

International students Sana and Dana who attend TUD, talked with practitioners. Sana is from Poland while Dana is from Ukraine. After they read the truth-clarification boards, they searched the topic on their mobile phones. A practitioner explained that Falun Dafa practitioners remain steadfast in their belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance but have been brutally persecution by the CCP for 26 years. The young women were alarmed by the persecution.

Dana said, “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are very pure and I do not see any problem with that. I really don’t understand why the Chinese government suppresses this kind group. I think that the persecution of peaceful citizens should be stopped. They don’t hurt anyone. It is only now that I know that such things are actually going on in this world and it’s still happening. I also know that the Chinese people are under surveillance and are suppressed. That is really sad.”

Sana added, “My family and I like to meditate. I think that this is related to our mental health and it is beneficial to our minds and bodies. Everyone should have the freedom and right to have their beliefs but in China, you don’t have the freedom to practice your belief. This is really bad. It’s unbelievable that a government can do such things!”

They signed the petition to support Dafa practitioners’ efforts to end the persecution and thanked them for being there and telling people about what is happening in China. Sana said, “We learned some new things today. I sincerely hope that you succeed in what you are doing. You’re really helping people break free from the CCP’s suppression and telling the whole world the true situation. The more people who know about it, the more this matter will be able to attract people’s attention.” Dana said, “This [persecution] is so cruel. It is evil. I hope that your efforts will end this situation.”

High School Student Encourages Friends to Sign the Petition

Himali, a 17-year-old high school student, is in her final year of high school, and plans to attend TUD university next year. After signing the petition, she brought several friends over that afternoon to also sign.

Himali said, “My friends and I all think that the things that you all are doing, ending the illegal organ harvesting and protecting those [who are being persecuted], is really important. We are so happy to be able to help! You should persist on, no matter how difficult. This is very important.”

“Falun Dafa Is Amazing!”

Originally from Korea, Mr. Zheng now lives in the Netherlands. He was riding his bicycle along the canal when he saw the practitioners. He gave them a thumbs up and exclaimed, “Falun Dafa is amazing!”

He said that he’s previously seen their truth-clarification activities in other places, such as Chinatown, when he was in South Korea. He really admired practitioners’ persistence in clarifying the truth to people around the world.

He learned more about the CCP’s persecution and said he has many Chinese neighbors who do not really understand what the CCP has done. He said that if you talk critically about the CCP, the Chinese people say you are their enemy. A practitioner gave him a copy of the Chinese language truth-clarification newspaper and suggested that he give it to his Chinese neighbors. Mr. Zheng happily accepted it and said, “Good idea!”
