(Minghui.org) We needed money to build a house in 2003, so my husband went to a bank to withdraw the money. After he came home, we found that the bank employees had given us an extra 6,000 yuan. My husband used the money to build the house and I didn’t object.

We were in need of money then, and I was a new practitioner and didn’t know much about Falun Dafa’s teachings. Under the corrupt social climate fostered by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), people took advantage of anything whenever possible. Therefore, I wasn’t strict with myself and didn’t follow the Fa principles.

I still remembered the overpayment from the bank after my husband passed away.

More than 10 years had passed, and as I studied the Fa more intensely, I understood Master’s teachings of “No loss, no gain.” (Lecture Five, Zhuan Falun)

I thought I should follow the requirements of Dafa to be a good person, and not do things that could hurt others. I decided to pay back double the amount I owed, which was about 12,000 yuan. This amount included the original overpayment plus interest and other related losses. Everyone makes mistakes, but it was our fault to keep the money that was not ours. We must have caused others great harm.

I wasn’t earning an income, so my daughter gave me a small amount of money to cover my living expenses. I saved part of my living expenses, and it took me three years to come up with the money I needed.

When it was time to pay back the money, I didn’t know which bank to go to, because my husband didn’t tell me at which bank he got the money.

I told a practitioner about my situation. It just so happened that one of her relatives worked at a bank. The relative investigated the incident and found out that two bank employees had carelessly overpaid 6,000 yuan, but no one knew who was the recipient of the overpayment. As a result, the bank fined each of them 3,000 yuan. Over a decade has passed since then, and both employees had retired.

I asked the practitioner’s relative to find the two employees so I could apologize to them. I said, “I wouldn’t have returned the money had I not practiced Falun Dafa. Our Master asks us to go beyond what a good person would do. I would feel uneasy if I don’t pay you back. I apologize for taking such a long time!”

The two employees were astounded. They didn’t expect to see the money after more than a decade. They said that Falun Dafa is truly wonderful and extraordinary!

At first, they refused to take the additional 6,000 yuan, but later accepted the money after hearing my sincere thoughts and the relative’s persuasion.

I finally fulfilled a wish I’d held on to for over a decade.
