(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Zhang Guozhi and his son Mr. Zhang Yue, in his 30s, were arrested on July 15, 2024, for distributing Falun Gong flyers. Mr. Zhang Yue was sentenced to four years in prison and is serving time in the Jilin City Prison. Mr. Zhang Guizhi was also sentenced to an unknown term and is serving time in the Gongzhuling Prison. Both have been denied visits by their family.
Ms. Wang Fenghua was tried by the Yuanbaoshan District Court on September 8, 2025. Police officers were stationed inside and outside of the court. Her brother, Mr. Wang Guoxiang, was arrested soon after he entered the court. Ms. Bai Shengzhen Qingling, a practitioner who came to show support for Ms. Wang, was arrested outside the court. No verdict was announced at the end of the hearing.
Ms. Liu Fengmei, in her 60s, was arrested in March 2024 and detained for 15 days. Her home was ransacked. She has been missing since January 2025.
Ms. Ying Xianying, in her 70s, was arrested in late August 2025 and taken to the Xiaoyun Brainwashing Center.
Xu, first name and gender unknown, of Gushan Town, was arrested around September 3, 2025.
Ms. Zhao Li, a native of of Xi’an City, was scheduled to be released from the Chongqing Women’s Prison after completing a 22-month term on September 15, 2025.
Ms. Fu Ying was harassed at home by plainclothes officers Liu Bin and Zhang Zhijie, from Fuping County Domestic Security Division, on the afternoon of March 17, 2025. They took photos of her by force and seized her Falun Gong printouts, MP3 audio player, and other belongings.
The two officers went to her home again on April 25, took photos of her, searched her drawers, and checked each bedroom. They returned to her home on July 21. She was forced to open her door after they threatened to break it down. They again took photos of her against her will.
Ms. Liu Lijun talked to a college student about the persecution of Falun Gong at a bus station, and the student recorded the conversation then reported her to the police. Several plainclothes officers were staked out in front of her home at around 8 a.m. on July 22, 2025, and rushed in as soon as she opened the door. They seized her Falun Gong books and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. They arrested her again on August 18 and ordered her to pay a fine. She refused to comply and was detained for 15 days. She has since been released.
Mr. Li Xuehong, in his 50s, was arrested while talking about the persecution of Falun Gong on a cell phone in mid-April 2025. He was detained for 15 days.
Ms. Cao Su’e, in her 80s, and Ms. Liu, in her 70s, first name unknown, were arrested in May 2025, after someone reported them for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Cao was released the same day. Ms. Liu was detained for a few days before she was released.
At least 14 practitioners were harassed by officers from the Wenquan Police Station and community clerks in late August 2025, before the Chinese Communist Party’s military parade on September 3.
The harassed practitioners included Huang Fenfang, Ren Huifang, Yang Xiaohua, Zhen Shuanghua, Li Suqin, Li Mincai, Yan Qin, Cao Su’e, Zhang Huilan, Xu Changhong, Chen Jingwen, Zhang Qi, Zhang Jun, and Shi Hongying. They were harassed at home, at work, or by phone. The police took photos of some practitioners without their permission.
Deputy director Jin Yonghuan and two officers from the Chengdonghu Police Station searched Mr. Liu Xiaomeng’s home on August 29, 2025. They were in plainclothes and did not show their police IDs, or a search warrant. They confiscated his notebook computer, six Falun Gong books, two flash drives, three media players, a desk calendar, and other belongings. They did not provide a list of the confiscated items.
Mr. Liu was taken to the police station for interrogation. They asked if he practiced Falun Fong, for the names of his parents, if he browsed foreign websites, if he knew about the Minghui website, and how he heard about Falun Gong. He was forced to provide a blood sample and fingerprints. The police also ordered him to report to them with his mother, Ms. Zhang Xinyun, and prevent her from going out to talk to people about Falun Gong. He and his mother did not cooperate.
Mr. Liu got a call from police director Jin on September 1. Jin questioned if his mother was at home and ordered him to call them when she returned. Jin called him again on September 3 and said he could pick up his computer at the police station. When he went there, Jin asked for the whereabouts of his mother. The police returned his computer but not his other belongings.
Ms. Sun Jing was released on September 7, 2025, after serving a four-year term.
