(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 28 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Chunqin Facing Trial

Ms. Liu Chunqin was originally scheduled to stand trial at the Lushan District Court on January 15, 2026, but the trial was postponed to January 23.

2. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Yufeng, around 55, was arrested on January 12, 2026. Her home was ransacked. The police handcuffed her 87-year-old mother-in-law, who shared the residence with her, for about three hours.

Ms. Sui Meicai, around 60, was arrested at home on January 12, 2026. The police entered the house by breaking the window. Five other practitioners, including Ms. Zhang Xiaoli, Ms. Wei, Wang, Sui, and Qiao, were also arrested around the same time. Ms. Wei was taken to the Jiaozhou City Lockup by Fu’an Police Station officers.

3. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Liu Yixiu, Mr. Liu Yurong, and Ms. Liu Jin’e were arrested on January 7, 2026. The two male practitioners are currently detained in the Laiyang City Lockup and Ms. Liu is held in the Yantai City Detention Center.

4. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ms. Huo Shouchun Harassed

Ms. Huo Shouchun was harassed at home by two officers from the Panzhuang Town Police Station on January 11, 2026. They took photos of her without her permission.

5. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yang Xiaodong Arrested

Mr. Yang Xiaodong and his wife were arrested on January 6, 2026, after being reported for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. They were released later that day.

6. [Xingyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaorong Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiaorong was arrested by Gaocun Township Police Station officers on the evening of December 29, 2025. She was released on bail on January 2, 2026.

7. [Haiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiulan Harassed

Ms. Wang Xiulan was harassed at home on January 9, 2026. The police confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder and more than 100 yuan in paper bills printed with information about Falun Gong.

8. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhou Yonglin To Be Released from Prison

Mr. Zhou Yonglin was scheduled to be released from prison on January 20, 2026, after serving a five-year term. He is in very poor physical condition due to torture in custody.

9. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Yuqiong Arrested

Ms. Li Yuqiong was arrested in August 2025 and has been detained since.

10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Three Sisters Arrested

Three sisters, Ms. Liu Yushan, Ms. Liu Yuzhu and Ms. Liu Yuzhi, were arrested at their respective homes on January 8, 2026. Ms. Liu Yushan was released the same day. Ms. Liu Yuzhu was transferred to the nearby Pudong Township the next day for detention. Ms. Liu Yuzhi started a hunger strike and was released three days later.

11. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ling Detained

Ms. Wang Ling’s husband was summoned from his workplace to the Fangyuan Police Station on January 10, 2026. He was forced to sign a list of items confiscated from his home. The police demanded that he bring his wife to the police station the next day. When they went as instructed, Ms. Wang was arrested upon arrival and placed under a 15-day detention.

12. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Xiukuan Facing Trial

Mr. Li Xiukuan was scheduled to appear in the Daoli District Court on January 19, 2026. His family hired two lawyers to represent him. He is currently held in the Shuangcheng Detention Center.

13. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Yanwei Indicted

Ms. Chen Yanwei was arrested on October 29, 2025, and has been detained in the Mudanjiang City Detention Center since. She has been indicted by the Aimin District Procuratorate.

14. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qiao Jianguo and His Wife Ms. Wang Lili Arrested

Mr. Qiao Jianguo and his wife Ms. Wang Lili were arrested by several plainclothes officers on January 12, 2026, and taken to the Yunxi Police Station. Their home was ransacked.
