(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

3. [Gaotang County, Shandong Province] Practitioner Chen Shimei Arrested
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Hu Chunyuan Arrested
5. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
6. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lyu Youzhi Arrested
7. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hou Meixian Harassed
8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gu Lihong and Practitioner Zhao Arrested
9. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Huilian Arrested
10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Xiuqin’s Appeals Case Accepted by the Intermediate Court

1. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Facing Trial

Mr. Yang Kui, Mr. Shen Jinxiang, Ms. Jia Yanfeng, and Ms. Su Hong were scheduled to appear in the Hailin City Court on January 20, 2026.

2. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xu Liyun Facing Trial

Ms. Xu Liyun is facing trial. The police threatened to arrest her if she didn’t show up in court.

3. [Gaotang County, Shandong Province] Practitioner Chen Shimei Arrested

Chen Shimei, gender unknown, was arrested by Huixin Police Station officers on January 13, 2026.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Hu Chunyuan Arrested

Ms. Hu Chunyuan, 62, was arrested on or around January 7, 2026.

5. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Xiuqin and Ms. Li Yaxia were sentenced to one year, and one year and eight months, respectively, by the Yanji City Court. The have been admitted to the Yanji City Prison to serve time. Their families were recently informed that their cases had been transferred to a court in Changchun City, their prison terms were extended to three years, and they would soon be transferred to the Changchun City Women’s Prison.

Ms. Geng Caiji and Ms. Xu Chunying were sentenced to seven months, and eight months, respectively. They are being allowed to serve time outside of prison.

6. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lyu Youzhi Arrested

Ms. Lyu Youzhi was arrested by officers from the Zaoyuan Police Station on January 11, 2026, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong in a market. She didn’t cooperate during the interrogation and refused to sign any documents. She was denied admission to the detention center due to her physical condition, and was released in the evening.

7. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hou Meixian Harassed

Ms. Hou Meixian was harassed by Liyuan Police Station officers in January 2026. The officers locked the room from the inside to prevent her family from entering during the home raid.

8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gu Lihong and Practitioner Zhao Arrested

Ms. Gu Lihong was arrested on January 12, 2026, for talking to people about Falun Gong. More than ten officers went to her mother’s home and interrogated the woman, who is in her 80s. She was terrified.

Another practitioner surnamed Zhao was also arrested around mid-January 2026.

9. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Huilian Arrested

Ms. Xu Huilian, 62, was arrested by Zhongyun Police Station officers on January 12, 2026. Her home was ransacked and her personal belongings were confiscated.

10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Xiuqin’s Appeals Case Accepted by the Intermediate Court

Ms. Li Xiuqin was sentenced to three years and two months by the Ganjingzi District Court on November 13, 2025. She appealed with the Dalian City Intermediate Court, which accepted her case in January 2026.

11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Du Wenmei Arrested

Ms. Du Wenmei, in her 60s, was arrested on January 7, 2026, at Qingdao West Railway Station, while talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Nie Arrested

Ms. Nie was arrested by officers from the Deshengmen Police Station in late December 2025, after she was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong at Beishan Park. She was released on the same day.

13. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Ms. Dai Meixia Arrested

Ms. Dai Meixia was arrested on January 6, 2026, by officers from the Xiaochi Town Police Station and the Huangmei County Police Department. She was released the next day, after being denied admission to the Huanggang City Detention Center due to her health condition.
