(Minghui.org) An 86-year-old woman in Suining City, Sichuan Province, is serving a ten-month term for her faith in Falun Gong, Minghui.org learned recently.

Ms. Liu Daxiu was arrested in October 2025 and sentenced to ten months at an unknown time. She was then admitted to the Chengdu Women’s Prison (located in Longquanyi District). Other details of her prosecution remain to be investigated.

Ms. Liu took up Falun Gong in February 1997, and recovered from her numerous diseases (including a heart condition, kidney disease, cholecystitis, neurosis, cerebral arteriosclerosis, and paralysis on the right side of her body) in just eighteen days. After the Chinese Communist Party launched a nationwide campaign against Falun Gong in July 1999, she held firm to her faith and was repeatedly targeted by the authorities prior to her latest prison sentence.

Officers from the Kainan Police Station broke into Ms. Liu’s home in the middle of the night on July 10, 2001, and arrested her. They targeted her after spotting her at the trial of another local Falun Gong practitioner. She was taken to the Wujiawan Detention Center. The police ordered Ms. Liu to slander Falun Gong and to step on a photo of the founder of Falun Gong. She refused.

Ms. Liu was released one month later, after her family was forced to pay 2,000 yuan. She was arrested again on February 28, 2002, after the police spotted her putting up posters bearing Falun Gong messages. They raided her home and interrogated Ms. Liu at the Heping Road Police Department. She was later moved to the Lingquansi Detention Center.

The Chuanshan District Court sentenced Ms. Liu to four years in April 2003, and she was transferred to the Chengdu Women’s Prison several days later. The guards there subjected her to various forms of abuse, including solitary confinement, sitting on a small stool for long hours, forced labor, and brainwashing. She was released in February 2006.

While helping a woman in distress outside a hospital in 2012, Ms. Liu talked to her about Falun Gong and was reported to the police. She was released hours later.

A surveillance camera recorded Ms. Liu talking to people about Falun Gong in 2013. The police soon arrived to arrest her. She was released after an unknown amount of time.

Ms. Liu was reported to the police in September 2014 for putting up posters bearing Falun Gong messages. She was released that afternoon.

A special forces officer spotted Ms. Liu talking to people about Falun Gong at a bus station on July 21, 2017. He seized her and reported her to the local police station. She refused to reveal her name or address and was later released.

A similar episode happened again in October 2019, when Ms. Liu was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong at a bus station. The police confiscated the Falun Gong materials she had on her and released her after an unknown amount of time.

Ms. Liu was reported to the police again on April 5, 2020, while she talked to someone about Falun Gong. The police photographed her and released her that afternoon.
