The Fort Bend County Fair & Rodeo began in 1933, and this year marks the festival’s 90th season. The event features a parade, rodeo, livestock shows, carnival rides, and live country music concerts.
Even though the parade began at 9:00 a.m., crowds had already gathered along the sidewalks and intersections by 6:00 a.m.
County Judge Daniel Wong talked with the various groups before the parade started. He spoke with Falun Gong practitioners at length, and said he was happy to see them participate in the event.

Before the parade began, members of other participating groups were drawn to the sound of the practitioners’ waist drums and their colorful float and costumes. They thanked practitioners for participating and some said they wanted to learn more about Falun Gong.
After the parade began, the waist drum team drew the attention of the spectators, with many people waving and applauding.
As practitioners passed the viewing stand, the announcer called out, “They’re so beautiful!”
Practitioners distributed flyers to spectators and lotus flower keepsakes with the words “Falun Dafa Is Good” and “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.”
