(Minghui.org) A married couple in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, have been detained since their arrests on September 10, 2026, for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Over 20 officers from the Gaocheng District Domestic Security Office, Lianzhou Town Police Station, and Meihua Town Police Station broke into the home of Mr. Lyu Jie and Ms. Zhang Xueyan around 4 a.m. on September 10. Four officers carried Ms. Zhang out and threw her into a police car. The police ransacked the couple’s home and confiscated their Falun Gong books and computer.

Ms. Zhang was held at the Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center, and Mr. Lyu was taken to the Gaocheng District Detention Center.

The police claimed that they were closing the case on Ms. Zhang’s arrest in 2021, when she was detained for two days for distributing Falun Gong materials in the nearby Meihua Town. Back then, the police also raided Ms. Zhang’s home and confiscated many of her personal belongings. Now they have arrested her again, implicating her husband as well.
