Australia Falun Dafa Conference Inspires and Encourages Practitioners to Be Diligent

Oct. 31, 2026 |   By Minghui correspondents in Australia

(Minghui.org) The annual Australian Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference was held in Melbourne on October 25, 2026, and more than 1,000 Falun Dafa practitioners attended.

After listening to the cultivation experiences, several practitioners said that they were inspired and motivated to reflect on their own shortcomings. The sharings covered topics from looking within and letting go of selfishness to being persistent in doing the exercises and cooperating with other practitioners. Many practitioners said they realized they needed to be diligent and saw where they needed to improve in their cultivation.

Looking Within and Letting Go of Selfishness

Natalya from South Australia has practiced Falun Dafa for three years, and this was her third conference. She said she’s gained something different each time. “What impressed me most is the environment—it’s like a family that supports each other,” she said.

A practitioner’s sharing of how she looked inward while selling a house impressed her. The practitioner wanted to sell the house as soon as possible. Her husband was pressured by the realtor and the buyer, and the practitioner’s eagerness added additional pressure. She later realized she should be considerate. The couple came to a mutual understanding and cooperated to deal with the issue better.

Another practitioner’s sharing of being responsible for each thought resonated with her: “We are responsible for each thought, because I can see clearly that thoughts have direct consequences. Thus, we must cultivate our minds.”

She said we must be clear-minded and pay attention to our thoughts. She also realized the importance of studying the Fa more.

Natalya, who is of Russian and German descent, lived in Russia as a child, then later moved to Germany and then to Australia. When one of her friends told her about Falun Dafa, she attended a class and later joined a Fa study group. She usually reads Zhuan Falun in English, but she also reads the German and Russian language translations. She said she gets a new understanding when she studies the Fa in different languages.

She said that she had more energy and was stronger after practicing Dafa. Listening to the other practitioners’ experiences presented at this conference showed the importance of paying attention to every thought. She said she would study the Fa more and improve herself.

Patrick Murphy from Melbourne (Minghui.org)

Patrick Murphy, who started practicing Falun Dafa in 2003, said the conference this year gave him a deeper understanding of how to let go of selfishness.

He said, “The cultivation experience sharing from fellow practitioners has been deeply inspiring for me, especially regarding ‘letting go of selfishness.’ When it comes to one’s own selfish thoughts, it is truly necessary to look inward and examine what exactly one is pursuing and hoping to gain. It is important to discern the origins of one’s attachments or notions, and then reflect on how to change them or view them from a different perspective. This is what I’ll focus on once I return home: letting go of selfishness.

“In fact, the issue of selfishness has been troubling me for some time. This conference has provided a valuable opportunity for me to see how other practitioners identify their selfish thoughts, overcome them, and continue moving forward on their path.”

Cooperating to Form One Body

Janine Rankin, 77, is from Queensland. She started practicing Dafa in 1995. She said that she was inspired by practitioners’ sharing how to face tests and eliminate attachments. She also saw where she needed to improve.

“It is important for everyone to get together and listen to others’ sharing. These sharings are generally inspiring and help me break my limits more effectively. Other practitioners’ description of how they passed tests and tribulations are very touching,” she said.

She was impressed with one practitioner’s account of working with the government: “Practitioners looked within, found their own attachments, helped each other, and improved together. By helping each other and looking within, their project went smoothly.” She realized that, as long as everyone pays attention to cultivating oneself and is willing to help each other, one body can be better formed.

Phuong Ofner from Queensland was also inspired. Phuong, 46, previously worked as a music instructor, specializing in traditional Vietnamese instruments. Since relocating to Australia, she has been working in early childhood education while also teaching the guzheng.

She has practiced Dafa for six years. Her 17-year-old daughter also practices Falun Dafa. The was the first conference she and her daughter had ever attended. She said every practitioner’s sharing inspired her.

“The sharing of a young Vietnamese practitioner especially moved me. He lived in Singapore and later went to Sydney to attend college. There were many students from China. He was determined to set up a Falun Dafa club to introduce the practice. Thus, he faced interference from various sides, including social media and the Marxism Club. Facing these challenges, he was steadfast in his belief in Dafa, cultivated himself well, dealt with people kindly, and continued to introduce Dafa to more students,” she said.

Phuong and her daughter reflected on the papers they heard at the conference and noted their own attachments. She hoped that she would be more tolerant toward others and, when working with other practitioners, coordinate and cooperate more effectively to function as one body.
