(Minghui.org) Three residents in Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province, were sentenced for practicing Falun Gong, Minghui.org learned recently.
Mr. Liu Qingfu, 57, Ms. Meng Xianlong (also known as Meng Guilong, in her 60s), and Ms. Zhou Yuqin (also known as Zhou Hui, in her 50s) were arrested in mid-May 2026 after surveillance cameras recorded them distributing Falun Gong informational materials. They were put in the Hegang City Detention Center and issued formal arrest warrants by the Xing’an District Protectorate.
The Xing’an District Court sentenced the three practitioners at an unknown time. Mr. Liu was given three years and two months and was fined 5,000 yuan. Ms. Meng received three years. Ms. Zhou’s prison term is unknown.
Prior to their latest persecution, all three practitioners have been repeatedly targeted for their faith.
Mr. Liu, a former middle school teacher, was twice jailed for a total of 10.5 years (May 2002 – May 2011 and March 2015 – September 2016). He was also fired by the Hegang City No. 21 Middle School.
Ms. Meng was sentenced to one year and released from the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison in 2022.
Ms. Zhou endured brutal torture while serving a three-year term at the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison. She was released in April 2023.
