(Minghui.org) A 53-year-old woman in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, was admitted to the Inner Mongolia First Women’s Prison on December 25, 2025, to serve a one-year-and-eight-month term for her faith in Falun Gong.
Ms. Cui Yili, born in November 1972 and an employee of the Baiyinhua Railway Company, was arrested at work on May 21, 2025. The police raided her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and printer. Her daughter, Ms. Duan Mingyang, was arrested outside a bank on the same day and released hours later. It is unclear whether Ms. Duan practices Falun Gong.
Ms. Cui was taken to the Songshan District Detention Center. Her lawyer visited her there and learned that the police arrested her per an order from higher-ups because she “had overseas connections.” One piece of “evidence” was that she used anti-firewall software to visit Minghui.org and printed Falun Gong informational materials downloaded from the site. Another piece of “evidence” was the phone calls that her younger brother, who lives outside of China, made to ask about her health.
It is unclear when Ms. Cui was indicted, tried, or sentenced. She was transferred to the prison in the capital city of Hohhot on December 25, 2025. Another local practitioner, Ms. Li Yufen, 64, was also admitted to the same prison to serve a six-year term recently.
