(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 41 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Jianhua Arrested
2. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] More Than 20 Practitioners Arrested
3. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Han Yuhong Arrested
4. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Xin’an Arrested
5. [Huai’an County, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Detained
6. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Sun Yishu Arrested
7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Nine Practitioners Arrested
8. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Mr. He Rongzhong Arrested
9. [Chongqing] Mr. Dong Weidong Released From Prison
10. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Peizhi Arrested
11. [Chongqing] Ms. Tang Jing Detained
12. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Ping and Her Husband Mr. Liu Xueshen Released From Prison
1. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Jianhua Arrested
Ms. Sun Jianhua was arrested by officers from the Dongguan Police Station on January 23, 2026.
2. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] More Than 20 Practitioners Arrested
Starting on January 20, 2026, officers from the Zichuan District Domestic Security Division and various police stations launched a coordinated operation, arresting over 20 practitioners, including Luo, Wang, and Zhang. The practitioners’ homes were also ransacked.
3. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Han Yuhong Arrested
Ms. Han Yuhong was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Weihai City Domestic Security Division on January 21, 2026. She has been detained since.
4. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Xin’an Arrested
Ms. Liu Xin’an was arrested after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong on January 19, 2026. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, printed materials, a computer, an audio player, and paper currancy bills imprinted with Falun Gong information. She is being held in the Ximen Detention Center.
5. [Huai’an County, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Detained
Ms. Yang Yunlan, Ms. Guo Jianmei, and Ms. Ding Xiuli were reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing New Year pictures on January 23, 2026. They were arrested by Diliutun Township Police Station officers and taken to the Huai’an County Domestic Security Division, then transferred to Zhangjiakou City Administrative Detention Center for ten days of administrative detention.
6. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Sun Yishu Arrested
Ms. Sun Yishu was arrested on January 23, 2026, for talking to people about Falun Gong at a tourist site. Her home was ransacked. Due to her advanced age and frail health, she was released that evening.
7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Nine Practitioners Arrested
At least nine practitioners were arrested on January 12, 2026. Among them, Qiao Jianguo, Wang Lili, Xu Huilian, Wei, Zhang Xiaoli, Wang Chengying, and Liu Yufeng were released on bail. Sui Changyu and Sui Meicai remain detained.
8. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Mr. He Rongzhong Arrested
Mr. He Rongzhong was arrested at home by the Laishui County police on January 5, 2026. He was detained at the Laishui County Detention Center for ten days.
9. [Chongqing] Mr. Dong Weidong Released From Prison
Mr. Dong Weidong was released from Tilanqiao Prison in Shanghai on November 25, 2025.
10. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Peizhi Arrested
Ms. Liu Peizhi was arrested on January 22, 2026. Her front door lock was smashed, and her home was left in complete disarray after the police raid.
11. [Chongqing] Ms. Tang Jing Detained
Ms. Tang Jing, 62, was arrested at home on January 20, 2026. She was taken directly to the Dazu Detention Center for criminal detention.
12. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Ping and Her Husband Mr. Liu Xueshen Released From Prison
Ms. Li Ping, 85, and her husband, Mr. Liu Xueshen, 90, were taken into custody in June 2025 to serve a six-month term given in 2022. Ms. Li was released from the Shandong Province Women’s Prison on December 17, 2025, and Mr. Liu was released from the Shandong Province Prison on December 22, 2025.
