(Minghui.org) I met two practitioners in a big city in 2005 who knew how to install NTD Television satellite receivers. The receivers were normally installed on the rooftops of buildings. It can be a difficult task climbing stairs and getting on the rooftop.
The older practitioner was already in his 60s, but he was swift, agile, and efficient. He usually tested the signals alone. He was patient even if it took him a lot of effort to get the signal right. Sometimes, the younger practitioner and I couldn’t find a place to put the receiver, but the older practitioner always had a way and we never saw him worry. As the younger practitioner put it, “There’s no job he can’t handle.”
Installing receivers can be dangerous, and tall buildings with dozens of floors can make you feel dizzy and scared, but the older practitioner was never afraid. I went up a steep-sloped roof once, and the younger practitioner walked with trepidation as he followed the older practitioner up, but the older practitioner seemed to be walking on a flat surface. Afterward, the younger practitioner said, “If I didn’t have the older practitioner with me, I wouldn’t dare do it alone.”
We separated after three years of working together. I’m grateful for Master’s compassionate arrangement that allowed me to get to know these two practitioners and gain their technical guidance. They were not afraid of hardships and remained calm when encountering problems. Their righteous thoughts gave me a great deal of encouragement and courage. Three years of tempering laid a solid foundation for me to install NTD receivers.
Back in my hometown, I worked with two local practitioners to start installing NTD receivers. We started from our local area and expanded to areas hundreds of miles away. Whatever the weather—rain or shine, severe cold or scorching heat—as long as people needed them, we would not hesitate to go to them and install the receivers.
We once installed a receiver for a non-practitioner. He seemed hesitant at first. After we explained to him that the installation was free, he happily agreed. He later watched NTD Television and told us excitedly, “Great, so that’s what Falun Gong is like! I’ve lived half of my life in vain and only now do I understand.” He later introduced us to some of his relatives and friends so we could install NTD receivers for them as well.
We once helped install a receiver for an older educated couple. They had both been officials of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Unexpectedly, after they watched the NTD Television programs, they couldn’t hold back their excitement.
The wife shouted, “Over all these years, I was fooled by the evil Party!” They quit the CCP right away and then called their daughter in Italy to tell her what they had learned.
The husband said excitedly, “We understand what the CCP is doing. NTD Television provides the truth. We’ve found the meaning of life, and we will no longer believe the deceitful nonsense of the Party!”
The older man tells people about Dafa whenever he has the opportunity. He talks about the crimes of the CCP to help people recognize the true face of the Party.
He once asked us to install an NTD receiver for another well-educated man. The man was deeply moved after watching NTD Television and wrote an article for us to submit to Minghui.org. He also withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated youth organizations and repeatedly expressed his support for us. He and his wife started to practice Falun Dafa.
Our rules are: 1. We pay for our own meals, or we bring our own food; 2. We cannot use any money from any truth-clarification material production site; 3. We should not add any workload to the local practitioners.
When some practitioners insisted on giving us money, we put it into the materials production site. Over the years, we have installed many receivers for non-practitioners without charging them anything. We have not raised any funds, but some practitioners have voluntarily given us money. A fellow practitioner once gave us 10,000 yuan ($1,450). Another fellow practitioner sent us 20,000 yuan ($2,900). We didn’t dare accept it and repeatedly declined, but the practitioner insisted we take it. Without the selfless support of fellow practitioners over the years, we would not have been able to do what we have done.
Because we often receive donations and buy things, we established account ledgers, and often checked and settled accounts to see if the amount of money matched what was in the account. If it didn’t match, that is, if some money was missing, we’d make up for it with our own money. If there was more than we calculated, we would not take it out.
A practitioner from a city came to my house, because he wanted to work with me to install receivers in his area and surrounding areas. I agreed. With the cooperation of the practitioners in his area, we installed 23 receivers and repaired three receivers in one day. There is endless work there.
A coordinator in that area said, “You have brought the project of installing receivers to our area.” Other practitioners also realized the importance of installing NTD receivers. The two of us later went to areas 300 kilometers away in the west and southwest, and we often went more than 800 kilometers. Driving long distances can be very hard on drivers. To save time, we ate in the car, and we didn’t rest along the way.
The two of us have been working together for more than a year, and we have installed about 800 receivers. Not satisfied with the status quo, we started working together again to promote network set-top boxes. This practitioner provided the technology and the boxes, and I promoted them.
Over the years, because of the persecution, I have not had an ID card and cannot buy train or bus tickets. With Master’s protection, at critical moments, ticket scalpers appeared and helped me get on the bus or train.
We have traveled to innumerable towns and villages, journeying through cities and remote mountain villages alike. All those who came to understand the truth and found salvation have been filled with boundless gratitude for the vast grace of Master and Dafa.
I’m grateful to Master for his guidance and protection, so I could make it through safely and steadily to this day. My gratitude also goes to fellow practitioners for their unwavering support and heartfelt encouragement.
