(Minghui.org) Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, out of jealousy. The CCP made use of all its media to create widespread rumors slandering Falun Gong and deceiving the Chinese people. My husband was misled and did not allow me to practice Falun Gong.
My husband neither allowed me to possess Falun Gong books nor interact with other practitioners. He refused to listen when I tried to tell him about the practice. He refused to read the persuasion letters that I wrote in the name of others, and refused to accept flyers when other practitioners delivered them to his office. If truth-clarification materials were left on our door, he tore them down and threw them into the trash. He would not read them, nor would he allow me or the children to read them. Nobody was allowed to mention Falun Gong at home, and he would fly into a rage at the mere mention of the practice. He was also deeply indoctrinated by atheism.
I was unable to make a breakthrough in this family environment, and this big loophole in my cultivation became an excuse for the old forces to take advantage of and persecute me.
A few years ago, my body suddenly displayed serious fake illness symptoms. Half of my body could not move freely and my family took me to hospital. The diagnosis was that I had a stroke. After staying in the hospital for a few days, the doctor discharged me, and said, “Your left arm has lost its ability to function, so it can no longer move. From now on, you will need someone to support you when you walk. Please do not fall or the consequences will be dire.”
After returning home from the hospital, my husband looked at my state and often made sarcastic and mocking remarks. He blamed my condition on my cultivation. He said angrily, “You are not allowed to practice the exercises from now on.” He took away my only precious copy of Zhuan Falun without allowing any discussion or argument. I did not sleep that whole night and kept sending righteous thoughts to make him return the book to me. The next day, I told him, “Return my book to me. Without the book, I will lose my life. The Fa-rectification process is ending. Will you be able to take responsibility for it?!” Seeing my unwavering belief, he replied, “I will get it for you now.” He returned the book to me.
With this precious book, I spent a lot of time studying the Fa, looking within, improving my xinxing, and overcoming difficulties to persist in doing the exercises. I could not stand by myself, so I lay in bed to do the exercises. I felt a surge of energy moving through my body one day, and Master’s Fa enlightened me. A thought came into my mind, “My body’s condition has nothing to do with what the doctor said. It is not related at all, so how could I be trapped on the bed?” I sat up to send forth righteous thoughts and eliminate all the evil beings and matter that was interfering with my cultivation.
I slowly stood up while using the bed to support me. I then used the door to support me as I moved through to the living room step by step. While standing between the sofa and the coffee table, I fell onto the coffee table with a loud crash before I could fully steady myself. Hearing the commotion, my husband ran to the living room and asked me, “What happened to you?” I replied, “Nothing. I am just doing some exercises.” He said, “Be careful.” I replied, “I know. You can go back to your room.”
After saying that, I picked up a sofa cushion and placed it on the coffee table and started doing the exercises. After doing a few movements, I fell onto the sofa behind me. I just climbed back up, stood up properly, and continued with the movements. After practicing for a while, I fell onto the coffee table again, but this time, there was no sound. I kept falling and picking myself up like this as I continued doing the exercises. I was not dejected no matter how many times I fell.
I was determined, and had only one thought, “I want to do the exercises while standing up, and nothing can stop me from doing that!” I do not know how long this took (as I did not turn on the exercise music) but during the process of falling and picking myself up repeatedly, I completed the first, third, and fourth sets of exercises. Over the following three days, I did the exercises in a similar way, but the number of times I fell gradually decreased. By the fifth day, I was able to finish all three sets of exercises without falling. After that I was able to do the exercises while standing up. At the same time, I also no longer needed others to support me, as I was able to walk independently by myself. I knew that this was the result of Master’s empowerment.
I still have some attachments and notions that I have yet to realize, so I have not fully recovered from this illness tribulation and my body has yet to totally return to normal. However, the feeling that my body is changing for the better every day is very obvious. Some of the phenomena has even amazed my husband.
One day, my husband was sleeping in bed when I did the exercises with my back facing him. I had just done “Hands Pointing to Heaven and Earth” during the first exercise when he suddenly shouted, “China has divine powers!” I immediately stopped doing the exercises and thought that this was a chance to clarify the truth to him. I turned my head back and asked him, “Aren’t you sleeping? Why did you shout?” He said, “I was sleeping when I turned around and saw your arms stretching outward. I was so shocked because I realized that this was the result of you practicing Falun Gong, so I shouted. The doctor had said that your arm would not move again for the rest of your life. Now, not only can it move, you are even able to stretch it out. Although you were not able to stretch it out fully straight, the extent that you can stretch it has already exceeded my imagination.” With that, I took the opportunity to clarify the truth to him.
I talked for more than an hour, and he just sat there quietly listening to what I was saying. While he still held onto his opinions about the evil Mao Zedong, he was able to accept the rest of the things that I told him. He stopped making sarcastic or mocking remarks about my practice after this. He had personally witnessed the supernatural powers of Dafa, and he finally understood the truth 24 years after the Party started persecuting Falun Gong. This happened on April 3, 2023. However, the true fundamental change in his thinking came from him personally experiencing the goodness of Falun Gong.
One morning during the winter of 2024, my husband said that there was a blister on his face that hurt a lot. He suspected that it might be shingles and asked me, “Do you have any solutions? Please help me.” I replied, “Yes, but I have a request. You have to repeat what I say and you are not allowed to have any suspicion or wild thoughts when you are repeating what I say.” He agreed. I sat up, looked at his face, and recited Master’s Fa-rectification verses, followed by, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
I had just finished saying that, and he exclaimed, “Oh, this is so miraculous! This is so miraculous! The pain is gone and I feel better. This Falun Dafa is really great!” I replied, “You have experienced the goodness of Falun Dafa. If you recite ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ sincerely from now on, everything will be good. That’s because when you recite these phrases, you are connecting with the universe’s highest and greatest divine being’s message. His ability is the greatest and his powers are infinite. He protects people who believe in him.” My husband nodded.
My husband has since changed a lot. He sometimes voluntarily asks me if I have done the exercises if he knows that I have not. One day, I recited Master’s article “Why the Creator Seeks to Save All Life.” After listening to it, he said, “Master is really good! Dafa is really good too! It’s disciples like you, who did not cultivate well, that have caused Master to lose face.” That made me feel that he really understood the truth. From then on, this “stubborn old man” has also been saved!
